Disney and 20th Century Fox Enter 5 Year Partnership!!!!

"It was announced today that Disney and Fox have enter into an exclusive 5 year partnership beginning next month, focusing entirely on the Star Wars franchise. This new deal will allow Fox to co-distribute with Disney (under their Touchstone banner) all upcoming Star Wars films between 2015 and 2020. "When it comes to Star Wars, Disney and Fox tend to have a connection." said a Disney representative. "Which is why we decided to start a, hopefully, long-lasting partnership. I think by working together, is going to make a lot of fans very happy." In addition, because of the partnership, Fox will now own permanent distribution rights to Star Wars Episodes I, II, III, V, and VI, the Ewok movies, The Star Wars Holiday Special, and any related content co-produced by the company, in addition of owning all permanent rights to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, while the copyright remains with Lucasfilm and all other content will go to Disney (with the Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series being another exception as all rights to that will go to Warner Bros., being a Cartoon Network co-production).Disney CEO Bob Iger has agreed to Fox's conditions and promises them a 30% revenue in sales related to Star Wars. The biggest news of all surprisingly is that work is officially under way for Star Wars Original Unaltered Saga box set for both Blu-ray and DVD formats to coincide with the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens this December, in addition of the Ewok Adventures on Blu-ray and DVD this summer. "There's a lot of opportunities with this partnership." said CEO Bob Iger. "We have worked together for a while and I am happy to be working with such another fine film company." No one at Fox was reached for comment at this time but rest assured, they're pretty excited too. More details about this partnership as it develops."
