I really don't follow this, however I did see these at Walgreen's the other day. Below is an Ebay auction with My Little Pony Beanie Babies.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Eeeh when it first came out I thought it was cute and charming. I guess "Okay" for a little kids' show. I liked some of the cute fanart and the "good" pony humanizations (i'm a sucker for humanizations in general though).
Later on I stopped caring for it and tbh the fandom ruined it with all of the bad fanart, bestiality/porn, sexual torture, wish-fullfilment fantasies, violent gorey stuff, art theft, and 30 year old basement dwellers bullying little girls for "stealing the show from them".
I also hate ponifications. WE DO NOT NEED TO SEE EVERY SINGLE FICTIONAL CHARACTER EVER CREATED TURNED INTO A PONY, THANK U. From Sherlock Holmes, to Star Trek, to Harry Potter, to Bleach, to fuckin' Disney...Gah, I'd shoot down these ponifications like a rabid dog.
Let the little girls enjoy their show and go watch a show that fulfills your sexual perversions, bronies.

This whole brony fad really needs to die a slow painful death . The idea that men in their 20s enjoy MLP is creepy.
Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
My fiance is 35 and enjoys the show. Now to the extent of dressing up and such. But he laughs along with myself and our daughters. He and I discuss the show sometimes. He has to catch up on the new season. We just ignore the darker side to the fandom. Honestly, almost all fandom has their perverts. Between fan fiction and artwork. And the "ponification" of all other characters....the show and comics do it themselves. From Big Lebowsky to Gordon Ramsey and Huey, Dewey and Luey. They have created many canon background characters based on characters from other universes. Its part of the in-jokes for the adults. What I like about the show as an adult is the in-jokes. Unlike say Shrek, they are almost never dirty in nature. More like "I don't give a flying feather" and the like. If you want to blame anyone for the ponification of so many characters, it starts with the show really. And for years people have drawn them as human and then they made Equestria Girls and the fandom either loves it or hates it.
Fans should never lose sight of one thing...MLP has been and always will be....30 minute commercials for toys. Equestria Girls and Power Ponies are both efforts to create new toys. Same with Princess Twilight. But so long as the show is still entertaining story and character wise, I can deal with that fact.

Two words: Filli Vanilli.
That episode was pretty amazing. And is it bad that I prefer Fluttershy's bass singing voice as opposed to her regular one?

Actually, there are quite a few men who enjoy MLP that would heartily disagree with you. A good show is a GOOD SHOW, regardless of whether the characters are tough robots or colorful ponies. The show caters to a wide audience and has genuinely enjoyable characters and stories.PixarFan2006 wrote:This whole brony fad really needs to die a slow painful death . Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
What's funny is that I have never heard of this show when it premiered, I think it was a friend of mine in high school in my senior year in 2011 who has told me about the show and how good it was. Of course I was skeptical but after when I watched the pilot that's when I realized that when Lauren Faust wrote it, it was refreshing of a cartoon for not making me cringe. So I just watch the show from time to time because of it's entertainment value, well written characters and good flash animation and as of now, Season 4 is already better than Seasons 1 and 3 in my opinion. With "Pinkie Pride" being my favorite of the season so far, Amy Keating Rogers wrote that one and "Filli Vanilli" which was another pretty good episode. I can't wait to see what's in that box that the Season 4 pilot revealed.Wiggles wrote:Two words: Filli Vanilli.

I do agree with some on here that some of the fans really, REALLY, creep me out......

Like you and like Siren's fiance, I like the show, because its good fun, entertaining, good morals presented in a nice way, it doesn't make you cringe, you get in, watch it, get out, have a good time, maybe read a few reactions on twitter or in Equestria Daily for a laugh, and that is all, I also like some aspects of the fandom, some brony youtubers are really good, making their own "versions" of the show, like "Friendship is Witchcraft" or the "Anthology" videos, even some make videos presenting serious analysis discussing the true nature of the fandom and what it means for those in it and all that.Wiggles wrote:Two words: Filli Vanilli.

But being further than that, buying plushies, cosplaying, saying that is THE BEST SHOW EVAH! is getting not my thing.
Then, its the dark part of the fandom, regarding this show in particular, is worse, because is a really innocent cartoon stands out to the public image easier. I'm talking about stalking the VAs, making extreme gore or porn versions of the show, being super obsessed with it and things like that are just weird and I ignore that part completely, also its not that big to begin with.
PS: Why I didn't check my earlier post?? It makes me look like I like gore and porn....and that I want to make it Canon!! What was I thinking?? I tried to say that there were some things, the fan made episodes like double rainboom or some weird things like Friendship is Witchcraft or the .MOV series. They are fun, but no way can enter a canon, like some people want, that is weird. they are parodies, I perceive them as parodies, I like those, but I don't want to turn them to canon.

I'm suprised that no one has mentioned about the Linda Woolverton joining MLP for season 5 rumor. (which, in my opinion, is really untrue).

I'm recently watching Arthur, and I think it's a much better show than MLP in every way.

When I was a kid, the only PBS show I looked forward to was Arthur. Man those were the 90's days for me as a little kid.thedisneyspirit wrote:I'm recently watching Arthur, and I think it's a much better show than MLP in every way.

But, according to your sig, you were born at the end of the 90s.
Regardless, Arthur is still going on, no matter what. Last year they changed the animation style to Flash, and the stories nowadays tackle relevant issues like bullying and so.

No, I was born in 1993 (I'll be 21 in August). So I remember the 90's in a way, my sig is meant to be the year I became interested in the things I take an interest in now.thedisneyspirit wrote:But, according to your sig, you were born at the end of the 90s.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
By accident I caught a few episodes again, and I think Fluttershy may be the most interesting/appealing pony. She's not so bad in comparison.
But the further I get away from the disgusting things from fandom like the Cupcakes crap and the "Celestia being an incestual tyranical lesbian rapist dictator" headcanon, the better.
Bronies should be burnt in a pyre.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I came across some info about the names of the villian(s) in the 2-parter finale of season 4. It's Tirek and (obviously in a cameo role) Scorpan from G1. That's actually sort of interesting that Meghan McCarthy used these guys from a previous generation, but I wonder where she's going with this in the finale where she was "proud of writing it".

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I'll just say right now that I initially despised this show for it's bright colors and Flash animation (the sort of issues that I have with the production of modern day cartoon shows in general), but since then I've given the show a break since I do find appeal in the characters now. But I still don't watch it much or care for how it was made. Just be glad I'm not as strongly opposed to the show as I was back then.

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
The finale of season 4 was the most satisfying finale the series has had thus far. Now with season 5 coming, and with more writers coming in, let's see if the Linda Woolverton rumor is true, if not, then I knew it.
