I looked this song up last night and have been listening to it ever since-it is so beautiful! I like it a lot more than Bon Ivers original version.

Have I lead you to her or had you already heard of her before?

I don't know the original version and I don't want to. I can't imagine this song being sung by anyone else. It just brings tears to my eyes; it's that beautiful. At first, I didn't believe the hype. Now I can't believe I didn't believe it sooner.

Last: Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald- Summertime
Now: Simon & Garfunkel- Flowers Never Bend With The Rainfall
Next: Bob Dylan- Someday Baby (Modern Times, 2006)*

Now: "The Tulgey Wood" from Alice in Wonderland's score
Next: "Ave Maria, Op. 52 No. 6" from Fantasia's score

Before: Iron Maiden- "Innocent Exile"
Now: Iron Maiden- "Killers"
Next: Iron Maiden- "Twilight Zone"

Killers is such a legit album. Much heavier, faster, and tighter than the original. I think the addition of Adrian Smith on twin guitars with Dave Murray and Martin Birch's legendary production skills really add to the band's sound.

Reliving a little of my Gr-alternative years:

Though I'm listening to the song on Rhapsody (I don't think Napster had this album).

I'm spinning Paths of Totality by Tombs, an album I somehow forgot to listen to this year, but ended up ranking as album of the year in Decibel, one of the few mags I take seriously. I figured that I had to check it out, especially since my own choice for album of the year, Heritage by Opeth, was their #2 choice.

I can see why. This is such a sick, progressive, sludgy record, in a very good way. Super heavy but intelligent, the type of post-metal I really like. I'd still slide with Opeth, but I can understand why they didn't top the list this year, since they tend to on a lot of lists anyhow.

As evidenced by this thread, I listen to lots of other music. But I listen to his songs everyday, that's right. The last couple of days he had to share a lot of playtime with Birdy, though.

Last: Little Richard- Tutti frutti
Now: Red Hot Chili Peppers- Snow ((Hey Oh))
Next: The Beach Boys- I Get Around

As you can see, my taste knows no limits. ;)

haha, fair enough.

I love old school Chili Peppers myself, but I haven't really been interested in their music in a while. I loved the whole Californication album as a kid, but I can barely listen to half of it now. I think the last album of theirs I can play all the way through is One Hot Minute, which I've always found underrated.

Before: The Mountain Goats- "Dance Music"
Now: The Mountain Goats- "Sax Rohmer #1"
Next: The Mountain Goats- "Old College Try"

Another favorite act of mine.
