In this thread we can pitch ideas bout feautre films Biographies based on past stars (IE... Laurel/Hardy, Mae West, Dick Van Dyke) we hardly see an "actual" biography film in the present. and with the current news of a feature length 3 Stooges Film (2009)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Stoo ... ature_film
and then there's 2000 tv verison produced by Mel Gibson

Here's some of my ideas of possible "Past Stars" films
Shirley Temple: I know Disney made a tv film, but I kinda found it alil loose.

Laurel and Hardy: I believe the history behind these 2 "Tom/Jerry" actors could be use for Hollywood's taste. But we'll have to wait for the '09 Stooges film reception. I can see Dick Van Dyke playin "Present" day Laurel and Robert Downy Jr. play "past" Laurel
Ray Bolger (Scarecrow of "Wizard of Oz"): I can see his complex story comin to life, maybe have Peter Facinelli portray him
here's a sample of Richard Attenborough's work

I remember watching this. It was okay, but not as definitive a biography film as others I've seen (about other people, not the Stooges, as I don't know of any other Three Stooges biopics).Mason_Ireton wrote:and then there's 2000 tv verison produced by Mel Gibson

Anyway, I'd love to see biopics about the following...
Gene Tierney - one of my favorite of the classic stars, but unfortunately she's not as mainstream as other classic stars (Hepburn, Bogart, Dean, etc.). Her biography is fascinating, and her films were magical (well, not magical...maybe illuminating). It's a pity not that many young people know about her today. Rachel McAdams would be perfect in the role (then again, I'm biased and think she's perfect for many roles).
Walt Disney - this will likely never happen, or will be done in a very glossy "good times" way by Disney. But he's had such a turbulent life, even if it doesn't come across in his public appearances. I can easily see Edward Norton or Robert Downey Jr. playing Walt.

An actualy Walt Disney film?? with Rober Downy Jr. as Walt?? *thinks* pends on how Roy E. Disney would feel bout that. I can see Roy E. havin his hands on the project from every angle. Edward Norton would be a good choice to play Walt. His story would be hard/complex to portray on film in both dark/light tones yet it'd capture everyone's attention.
and yes Albert, HollyWood is bringin back the Stooges. Hopefuly we'll see some respect in the new Stooges film.
I'd like to see a Gene Kelly feature Bio too, not much is known bout except his dancing side.

*checks out the links* oh.....his life's much interesting than famed Elvis Presily....
I can Rupert Grint (Ron Weasly) playin Mickey Rooney in his teen years....yet I think he (Mickey Rooney) was somewhat short...
And if there was a feauture film on Kathryn Beaumont (Wendy/Alice) I can see Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood, Harry Potter series) playin her....wish she was portrayin Tim Burton's Alice
