Congrats to Pirates and the Muppets. I talked to Miss Piggy today and she said she was very pleased to see her album win, but she told me that her name wasn't mentioned enough, considering this is her come-back album as a music artist. :P

He administers UD by day... and administers UD by night. Here with the presentation of our next two awards, please welcome LUKE!!!

Luke: For a long time, the made-for-TV movie has had certain stigmas attached to it, including sappiness, social preachiness, tragedy-exploitation, and low production values. The consensus seems to be that, with a few exceptions, telemovies are not only not good enough for theaters, they're not good enough for anything more than two hours of manipulative diversion. But alas, these remarks don't usually apply to Disney Channel Original Movies, the class from which almost all of these TV Movie acting nominees spring. Record-breaking High School Musical claims responsibility for seven of the nominated, while Radio Disney sisters Aly & AJ have earned recognition for their first acting collaboration. The last nominee -- Raven de Symoné -- took a vacation from her regular home...but just For One Night.

The nominees for Best Actor in a Made-for-TV Movie are...

Corbin Bleu (High School Musical)
Zac Efron (High School Musical)
Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical)
Ryan Templeman (High School Musical)

The nominees for Best Actress in a Made-for-TV Movie are...

Monique Coleman (High School Musical)
Vanessa Anne Hudgens (High School Musical)
Alyson Michalka (Cow Belles)
Amanda Michalka (Cow Belles)
Raven Symone (For One Night)
Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical)

...And the winners are...

Congrats to Pirates, Cars, and Ashley (one of the better things about High School Musical). I'm not surprised at Zac's win, even if I disagree with it. I find his acting forced and awkward. Thankfully, his role in Hairspray is pretty tongue-in-cheek, so his "look, I'm trying to act" style should work for that.
