Please welcome back The Little Merman!

TLM: <i>When many of us hear the word “Director” used, we think of a strong individual perched behind his or her camera dictating the ebb and flow of the film being concocted with his or her very hands. But in reality, many if not all of the magnificent scenes shot are done by that of a cinematographer—a Michael Ballhaus to Martin Scorsese, if you will. I am here tonight to award those individuals whose cinematic work is valued above all here at Ultimate Disney. The nominees for Best Achievement in Cinematography are:</i>

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
X-Men: The Last Stand
Superman Returns
Casino Royale
The Da Vinci Code

...And the winner is....

<center><b>Casino Royale</b></center>

Congratulations to <i>Casino Royale</i>!

Up next: JiminyCrick91 gives us the award for Best TV Theme Song!

And now we welcome back to the stage the one and only JiminyCrick91!

<i>When we watch a TV show there are some key elements that it needs to keep our interest, and in most cases that can start with a theme song. Who could forget the “SNAP SNAP” of the Addams’s, the story of a lovely lady and a man named Brady, that group of friends who are always there for you, or the ink bolts with Bologna in there slacks. This year we have the inspirational
sounds of the fallen ‘Everwood’, the chipper musical piece of a zany paper
company, and the catchy cries of a man who’s no Superman.</i>

The nominees for Best Musical Theme for a 2006 TV Series are...

"Main Title Theme for Everwood" by Blake Neely (Everwood)
"The Office Theme" by The Scrantones (The Office)
"Superman" Lazlo Bane (Scrubs)

<i>And now the year’s Best Theme Song for a TV Series is……</i>

<center>It's another tie!

<b>"Main Title Theme for Everwood"</b>
by Blake Neely for "Everwood"

&

<b>"The Office Theme"</b>
by The Scrantones for "The Office"</center>

Congratulations to two great theme songs, one catchy and one majestic!

Next, The Little Merman will bring us two of this year's most highly coveted awards: Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film!

Congrats to the Office theme!

*note: Aaron, you might want to fix the mistake under "The Office Theme" where it says "for Everwood" when it should say "for The Office"

Once again, here is The Little Merman!

<i>The stars, the starlets---everyone can remember at least one time in their life that they were completely love stricken with a specific character in a specific film, be it a he or she. Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Katharine Hepburn and so many others contributed in making their mark in the hearts and minds of many adoring fans, but what about the Hattie McDaniels, the Goofy to Mickey's Mouse? Sometimes the supporting players can be just what a movie needs, occasionally even overshadowing their counterparts for the worst, or hopefully, the best.</i>

The nominees for Best Supporting Actor in a 2006 Feature Film are...

Jack Nicholson (The Departed)
Dick Van Dyke (Night at the Museum)
Bill Nighy (Pirates)
Mickey Rooney (Night at the Museum)
Eddie Murphy (Dreamgirls)

The nominees for Best Supporting Actress in a 2006 Feature Film are...

Naomie Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest)
Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine)
Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls)
Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada)

And the winners are...

<center><b><u>Best Supporting Actor</u></b>
<b>Jack Nicholson</b>
for The Departed

<b><u>Best Supporting Actress</u></b>
<b>Jennifer Hudson</b>
for Dreamgirls</center>

 Congratulations to Jack Nicholson and J-HUD :D

Here he is again, folks.... LUKE!

<i>Today, a colossal box office gross is usually enough to guarantee a sequel. Such a practice wields a double-edged sword. A sequel has a built-in audience which will be interested even with minimal marketing. But it also has a fanbase that's very fond of the characters and the stories which house them. A few well-intentioned missteps and those folks who took to the first film will take to the Internet... with anger, disappointment, and grammatically suspect rants over a film which doesn't remotely live up to the work it follows. Whether it's with a Roman numeral, a plain old number, or a subtitle, many of 2006's highest-earning films caught up with existing characters. That may cause some to cite a lack of originality in Hollywood but it ensures us plenty of choices to fuel this category. From superheroes to spies, pirates to perennial holiday icons, the nominees in this category are recognized for not completely falling short of our established expectations. </i>

The nominees for 2006's Best Sequel feature are...

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Superman Returns
Casino Royale
X-Men: The Last Stand
The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause

<i>And the winner for Best Sequel is... </i>

<center><b>Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest</b></center>

Here to present his third award of the night is JiminyCrick91!

JC91: <i>
It's summer time, you’re diving down the high way perhaps on a road trip and
you turn on the radio and you hear a new song. At first you like it, then
you learn some of the words, and then by September you know all the words,
you don’t want to, you just do because it is on every music TV channel, on
every talk show, in ads, and on every radio stayshiton. Now this won’t stop
until December with the holiday carols but now that we have entered the new
year of music we can vent about who was the most overplayed artist of the
year before we forget these songs for ten years then look fondly upon them.</i>

The nominees for Most Overplayed Artist of the Year are...

The All-American Rejects
Chris Brown
Crazy Frog
Fedde Le Grande
Infernal
NeYo
Nickelback
Justin Timberlake

<i>But, as UD has chosen, the Most Overplayed Artist of the Year is………</i>

<center><b>Justin Timberlake</b></center>

I'm not sure if congratulations are in order or not... hmmm... anyways, the award for Best Original Film Score is coming up next!

It has been said that music makes a movie. Our next two categories are a testament to that. The nominees for Best Original Score in a 2006 Feature Film are...

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Superman Returns
X-Men: The Last Stand
Cars

And the winner is....

And now please welcome Mr. himself, dvdjunkie!

dvdj: <i>History shows us that Walt Disney movies have had a pretty decent track record in the Academy Awards of the past. Beginning in 1940, "When You Wish Upon A Star" from "Pinocchio" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. That was followed closely by "Song of the South" 's "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah" in 1947. Seventeen years would pass before a song from a Walt Disney movie would be honored with a golden statue when "Chim Chim Che-ree" from "Mary Poppins" won the prize for Best Original Song. From 1989's "The Little Mermaid" to 2001's "If I Didn't Have You" from Disney/Pixar's "Monster's Inc." the Disney company racked up six more Oscars for Best Original Song.

This year there are three nominees for Best Original Song from a movie, and they are: </i>

"Listen" - Beyonce Knowles (Dreamgirls)
"Real Gone" - Sheryl Crow (Cars)
"You Know My Name" - Chris Cornell (Casino Royale)

...And the winner is...

<center><b>"Real Gone"</b>
by Sheryl Crow for <i>Cars</i></center>

(A man with a moustache, monocle, and top hat walks onstage.)

Ladies and gentlemen I am a representative for Mr. Queen otherwise know as JiminyCrick91. It has come to our attention that Mr. Queen has allegedly engaged in some under age drinking. The team thinks this because of his slurred speech when he said the word station as...

We are planning to get him out before his final award is to be presented and believe that these accusations are false. ………Um..….. Carry on.

As Luke said earlier, Made-for-TV Movies don't often demand positive regard. Some stand out, though, and if ever there was a year of TV Movies, it was 2006. That was due in no small part to The Disney Channel and it just so happens that both our nominees this year come from that very network. The nominees for Best Made-for-Television Movie in 2006 are...

Cow Belles
High School Musical

...And the winner is....

<center><b>High School Musical</b></center>

Congratulations to High School Musical on another win!

JC91: Uh…. Sure it was!
(A Judge hops down from the ceiling.)
Judge: Good enough for me. You are free to go, after one question…. Why is Mr. Monopoly your representative?
JC91: Um… he was a family friend and wanted to be at the awards anyway he could?
Judge: Alrighty.

Once again, make welcome Mr. Timon/Pumbaa fan!

<i>Since we've added an entire music selection into the Media Awards, it
wouldn't feel complete without having an entire category to the music
related releases by our favorite company: Disney. A huge role that
plays in our love for Disney is the music itself, so it'd only seem
natural to have this category. Now, while we're only choosing our
favorite release of 2006, even there, it's a difficult task. We have
almost all the great artists Disney has worked with in the past among
the nominations which include: Howard Ashman, Danny Elfman, Alan
Menken, Randy Newman and Hans Zimmer. We also have a wide variety of
the selections of where the music is from: one Disney Animated Classic,
one Disney live-action film, one Pixar film, one of Disney's "Other"
Animation as well as a compilation of the highlights from the Studio.
It's all music to our ears, but any one of these choices would be a
great winner(*mutters* well, I'd beg to differ the fact that all of
these are "great", but that's not part of my job *mutters*). The
nominees for Best Walt Disney Records Release are:</i>

Cars: Soundtrack
Disney: The Music Behind the Magic
The Little Mermaid: Special Edition Soundtrack
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Soundtrack
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Special Edition Soundtrack

And the Golden Mickey goes to....

<center><b>The Little Mermaid: Special Edition Soundtrack</b></center>

Congrats to The Little Mermaid!

Next: Best TV Sitcom!
