Every Week.

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?

N/A

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?

Amazon.Com, DVDEmpire, DVDExpress (before it went belly-up the first time)

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?

Amazon.Com. Amazon.Com offer good customer service and excellent international shipping rates (DVDEmpire also have excellent service, but the shipping is too high for overseas customers)

Luke, have you looked into creating an afflilate with international Amazon sites too?
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Only one I've applied to (and been accepted) so far is the Canadian one. I guess I should apply to the UK one for R2-exclusives and 16:9 counterparts of the US's Pan & Scan?

Or just European and Japanese visitors who prefer to buy their own regions? :) Good look submitting the form for a Japanese affiliate though!

I buy discs from Amazon.co.uk as well as Amazon.com. And I suppose lots of other UK visitors do too. And if the choice was available, I would rather use a link to support this site, than benefit no one.

How often do you buy DVDs online?
Almost never. I bought my first DVD with Amazon because I had a gift certificate, but haven't since.

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?
It's cheaper to get them in-store first week.

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
Amazon.

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
Amazon because I bought my first disc there; a soft spot. I also have a soft spot for Barnes & Noble, but again, online prices are too expensive compared to the massive in-store discounts first week. And I want the discs in hand release day so I can watch them then, which online retailers do not offer for obvious reasons.

US or International customer?
US.

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
I'll take a raincheck on that, need to think about it. Great work, Luke! Keep it up!

How often do you buy DVDs online?
At least monthly, if not more often. Bi-weekly perhaps?

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?
N/A

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
In Australia, I use either www.ezydvd.com.au or www.atlanticdvd.com.au.
For all overseas stuff, I've used Amazon, DVDEmpire, DVD-Plus (Canada), HMV (UK), Blackstar.

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
Amazon. Mainly for their reliability. Some other places might have cheaper prices, but I always feel confident shopping with Amazon (Christ, I should get job in their marketing division).

US or International customer?
International

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
Can't say anything but good things about this site! I like the additon of the menu on the left to the forum pages too, makes things easier to navigate.
I can honestly say (without sucking up too much...) that this is one of my fave sites on the net.

I really can't reply at this time. When I had money, I bought stuff from amazon.com, buy.com and Disney Movie Club. I am currently not buying DVDs due to a lack of spendable money. :(

How often do you buy DVDs online?
---Probably about twice a month.

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?
---The ones I usually get online on the ones that I don't think will be easily found in local retailers like all the Disney catalogue bare bone DVD's they don't really get those out to all the retailers here until a couple of weeks after the fact. But the ones I know I can pick up on the day it coomes out I usualy do.

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
---www.bestbuy.com, www.circuitcity.com, www.deepdiscount.com(really slow delivery and probably will not go back to), www.disneystore.com, www.amazon.com, www.ebay.com, and also the Disney movie club.

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
---I chose other because my favorite online retailer varies I usually pick the one with the best prices or if the Disney Store has some bonus lithos I will go with them. But lately I have been getting alot of gift certificates from work that I can use at amazon and when ever I buy anything from them I use one of your links to get to there site (do you get anything if I buy something from them that you did not have a link directly to if I use one of your other links?)

US or International customer?
---US, I am in Idaho.

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
---I think that you should have links to Amazon for all the DVD's and not exclude links for the pan and scan. I personally prefer the film to be in it's original aspect but, I still buy all of them. I always use one of the other links to get to amazon through you anyhow but other people might be morelikely to go through the site that way.

How often do you buy DVDs online?
Once every two weeks or so...

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not? N/A

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
Deepdiscountdvd.com, dvdplanet, dvdempire, ebay, best buy.com, fye.com

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them? I chose other because my favorite is deepdiscountdvd.com.
I picked them because they are cheap and appeal to my poor college life wages. Also, i've bought from them many, many, many times and i've never had any trouble with anything. Even though i opt for the free shipping method (which everyone else says is slow), i always seem to get my dvds just a few days later :D Lucky me! :)

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
I guess that i'm the only one who doesn't ever use amazon, but like everyone else said, links to the store's sites are helpful...I'm sure that some of these places have affiliate accounts available but you probably knew that already

How often do you buy DVDs online?
About 1 DVD a month.
If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?
Usually cheaper in store, get it now, fun to look. Mainly I only order online for preorders, hard to find dvds or great deals.
What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
fye.com, reel.com(The good ol' days), amazon.com, bestbuy.com, columbiahouse.com(thanks again, Luke, for spreading the word on that deal!)
Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
I chose other, because I am most interested in the best price. Will shop around.

How often do you buy DVDs online?
once or twice a month depending on how much money i have to spend

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
www.dvdboxoffice.com stopped using because of problems with customs

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
I use the following websites:
www.futureent.com (uk) pretty fast brittish and cheap r1 retailer, no customs problems so far
www.swedisc.com (swedish) very good swedish r1retailer, not the cheapest, but if you tell them to pack your item well, they'll do it
www.discsop.se (swedish)the VERY best swedish r2 dvd-retailer
www.play.com very good and very cheap UK r2-retailer with Insane discounts. Somtimes r2s get stuck in the mail but the companys policy is to give back the amount to there customers. Play also sells r1s but they dont pay back the fees if a r1 gets stuck in customs
I have also purchased a few dvd's and Ld's on ebay aswell.
The reason i don't use american online stores is because of trouble with customs and all of the stupid fees.

US or International customer?
International

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
I've been meaning to sugest a Disney-laserdisc faq that deals with the basics from "what is a laserdisc?" and other questions people might have about Laserdiscs for a while.

How often do you buy DVDs online?

Once or Twice a year.

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?

It's much quicker to just pick them up at a local retailer, and cheaper, since you don't have to pay shipping & handeling charges.

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?

Amazon & Best Buy.com

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?

Amazon, simply because they have the biggest selection.

US or International customer?

U.S.

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?

No, its pretty darn good as is. ;)

How often do you buy DVDs online?
As often as 1.) A DVD I want comes out and 2.) I have the money.

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?
I only buy DVD's in a store if I can get a really good bargain (like Costco)

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
Overstock.com, CD Universe, Amazon

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
Overstock.com -- Cheap prices & shipping, comes quickly
I find Amazon.com to be not such a great retailer bargain-wise. Really, some DVD's are $26 but $19 at CD Universe.

US or International customer?
US

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
Well, I like that idea about adding a "Recommended DVD's" page from another thread--some great Animation DVD's that Disney fans would like.
And also a Walt Disney Treasures page would be nice.

How often do you buy DVDs online?
Often, maybe 2 or 3 times a month, but only if there is a really great price or promotion.

If you rarely or never buy DVDs online, why not?
N/A

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?
I bought most of my dvds from Bestbuy.com b/c of the free, fast shipping, the fact that they usually had a good price and gave out instore/digital coupons. I have also used Circuitcity.com, Overstock.com, ebay (if it's an OOP dvd) and I have gotten dvds from Amazon when I had gift cards to spend and I'd saved enough trivia nickels to get 10% off. :D

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?
Bestbuy.com (see above)

US or International customer?
U.S.

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?
None that I can think of. :)

I always buy my DVDs on Play.com, but if it is rare releases like promos, and Asian releases like Song of the south, Bambi and Cinderella I buy them on Ebay.

I collecting region 1 DVDs as long as I can find them, but there are some releases from Uk region 2 also that never was released in USA, like Countdown for Christmas, Fables vol 1 and 2.....

I'm happy to have a region free DVD player :D

How often do you buy DVDs online?

At least one per week.

What online DVD retailers have you used in the past?

I've only used Amazon once, because of their damn shipping charges. Play.com get the majority of my business, and I sometimes buy from cd-wow.com

Which online DVD retailer did you pick in the poll and why do you prefer them?

Other - play.com. Reasonable prices, free shipping and good customer service. I've only had to phone them up a couple of times, and they've been very helpful. In fact, just the other day they replaced "The Three Caballeros" for me, no questions asked. They even shipped out the replacement before I'd returned my dud copy.

US or International customer?

International - UK.

Any suggestions for improving the site in any way?

A section about buying second-hand DVDs perhaps? I'd like to buy some, but I don't trust eBay users at all. I'd be much happier to buy some through this site or message board.
