Message For Looney Tunes DVD Buyers

Post by Porce »

Jerry Beck, an animation historian, who has been working on the Looney Tunes DVDs left this message at TOON ZONE FORUMS. ( http://forums.toonzone.net/forumdisplay.php?forumid=6 ).
OK guys - the race is on!

It's vitally important that the GOLDEN COLLECTION set sell better than the other Looney Tunes sets. If you want to continue seeing classic Looney Tunes restored and packaged with great extras on DVD, you must buy (from any legitimate retail source) the GOLDEN box - and NOT buy the others (unless you REALLY want them).

The reason: the sales of the GOLDEN COLLECTION will convince Waner Bros. that there is a large audience of adult consumers who want this kind of product. As hard as it is to believe, the powers that be at Warner Bros. Home Video do not know this. The GOLDEN COLLECTION is a test, an experiment.

If the Premiere Collection (and that other crap) sells better than the GOLDEN COLLECTION, then that is what you'll get instead.

I think you guys know how important this is. Spread the word. Let's make the GOLDEN COLLECTION a hit. The 2nd & 3rd wave are on hold until they see the sales figures from the first wave. If the sales are great, the 2nd wave can be out as early as next summer.

Remember not to buy the other ones, though. Two of them are one-disc releases of webtoons, that don't even deserve to have the Looney Tunes name on them.

THE PREMEIRE COLLECTION contains discs 3 and 4 of the GOLDEN COLLECTION -- but without the special features! The better the Golden Collection sells, the faster we can expect more Looney Tunes on DVD (and these are all uncut and restored).

I pre-ordered my copy from Playusa.com yesterday. I don't think we need worry I believe these will sell. Didn't the "Golden age of Looney Tunes" Laserdisc sell really well? Who ever bought those disc's are bound to buy these.
Dust? Anyone? No?

A few questions though...

Post by TheBionicWoman »

Is there another site where I could get this cheaper than 48.oo. I love Looney Tunes, and would love to have the old ones in my collection. Also is this out for a limited time like the Disney films? There are a few dvds I have to buy at this time like (lion king, two towers extended, two towers theatrical) that I plan to buy. The wallets a bit tight, any suggestions?
Return of the King is coming, are you ready?

Try CD Universe, it has it for just $45

The DVDs aren't limited but you should buy them soon because unfortunately Warner wants immediate results.

Overstock.com has it for $46.69 plus they'll have $1 shipping from 8/6 to 8/8. Shipping is regularly only around $1.40, I think - so you're saving less than a dollar, but either way, it's cheaper than CD Universe when you factor in S & H.

Here's our site link:
