Oh, come, now. Even worse than this?
That cover art is awful! Timon looks mutated!
Except for the lack of attention that the artists gave to poor Timon, I don't see what is so bad about it. You have to consider the main audience that the cover art is supposed to attract: that's right, little kids. While older buyers might not find an odd drawing of Pumbaa, Simon and Timon singing and looking way too happy very appealing, some kids might like it. That's if they even care what the cover art is!

Well they all look kind of funny. There isn't anything wrong with Pumbaa, but Simba looks weird with those brown circles around his eyes. I don't know why though. And of coarse Timon looks like he only has one eye! Overall Toy Story is waaaaaay better!
Heres a thought....wouldnt it have been good if the stripe where Buzz and Woody are was actually clear? And when you the pull the slipcover off its a different cover, more colour and stuff. Just a suggestion....
Is there something that the cover is supposed to look like or do that I'm not understanding here? Even if it is holographic, all I'm seeing is Buzz and Woody next to a bunch of silver stuff; is that supposed to be a toy box or a door or something? Will someone explain this to me? Otherwise I'm thinking that it's servicable but dull and uncreative; I much prefer the original VHS art from 1996.
I have a question about this " highest bitrate." Does anyone have any idea how good a "system" you need to see a difference? I got a dvd player that doesn't have a progressive scan output and my tv is just a regular 27 inch tv, not widescreen or hdtv and over ten years old. So I'm not sure if I'll be able to appreciate the difference. Any ideas?

I don't think anyone will have any idea until Disney sends out review copies. As utterly satisfying as the first release was, I'm skeptical that it can be improved.

It's possible. The press release did not mention it though!
I already have the first Toy Story 1 (R4) DVD, it has the Tin Toy short (its great!) and comes in WS and DD5.1, so if this new edition doesn't have it, i don't see reason to exchange it
Disney here in The Netherlands has anounced (not in a press release) the Special Edition of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 both for November 23. I'm really looking forward to those DVD's!
MickeyMousePal wrote:Cool. I must own Toy Story 2 Disc DVD since I don't own The Ultiamte Toy Box but I do own Pixar 15 Anniversary Edition that contains Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and A Bug's Life.
Hopefully on e-bay The Ultimate Toy Box will go down in price.
Chandler (to Phoebe, over the phone) : Listen, Joey isn't gonna be here tonight so why don't you come over and I'll let you uh.. feel my bicep; or maybe more...
