I would if I was 100% sure that Soccermania was on it (CDJAPAN does not list what shorts are on it). Also, I want to be 100% sure that Disney won't release Soccermania in the R1 Extreme Sports Fun DVD -- maybe they will have a last second change of heart and include the short to the U.S. and Canadian market. Of course, this is Disney we're talking about, so maybe not.

The Hockey Champ - Chron. Donald V1
Double Dribble - Complete Goofy
How to Play Football - Complete Goofy
Mickey's Polo Team - Mickey in Living Color V1
Tennis Racquet - Complete Goofy
Goofy Gymnastics - Complete Goofy

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... z">Extreme Music Fun</a>
Mickey's Grand Opera - Mickey in Living Color V1
Music Land - Silly Symphonies, <i>Make Mine Music</i>
Orphan's Benefit - Mickey in Living Color V2
Farmyard Symphony - Silly Symphonies, <i>Make Mine Music</i>
Pluto's Blue Note - currently unavailable on DVD
How to Dance - Complete Goofy, CCF V3: Starring Goofy
Woodyland Cafe - Silly Symphonies
Donald's Dilemma - currently unavailable on DVD

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... z">Extreme Adventure Fun</a>
Mickey's Trailer - Mickey in Living Color V1
No Sail - currently unavailable on DVD
Good Scouts - Chron. Donald V1
Hello Aloha - Complete Goofy
Old Sequoia - currently unavailable on DVD
How to Ride a Horse - Behind the Scenes

Just going over the list that Luke posted, are the ones that say "currently unavailable on DVD" worth getting these dvds? I don't remember these.

I'd say no - but that's because they'll most probably be available in the Treasures eventually.

I think those shorts are good, such as No Sail or Donald's Dilemma.

The Disney website from Japan lists the shorts. It's on the DVD:

Thanks, M. I went ahead and ordered it from CDJapan.

Huge disappointment. The R4 version of "Extreme Sports Fun," which I own and have reviewed for a website, is an excellent collection (if only because of "Soccermania," but having the stand-alone "How to Ride A Horse" is nice too). Disney's decision not to include "Soccermania" will hopefully hurt sales more than they would think. Make sure Disney knows where we stand on this.

I see absolutely no reason to pick up these DVD's. I mean its OK if you missed out on the Treasures to pick them up or if you just want a sampeling of the Disney cartoons or if you have youngsters, but if people own the Treasures or have no youngsters then I see no reason why they should buy these DVDs. Besides, the cartoons that are new to DVD will show up on the Treasures Eventually. Don't get me wrong I love disney cartoons but I have the Treasures so these are just a waist of Money!

I won't be getting any of these, or any walt disney treasures. I'm sorry, but I'd rather get animated classics than any of these obscure cartoons.

Ehm... "Obscurity is in the eye of the beholder", I guess - these are certainly animated classics.

Like bd3, though, I prefer the Treasures over the CCFs.

What's your definition of an animated classic? Alan, I know it's your opinion, and I respect that, but how many of these cartoons have you watched exactly? Whether or not something is an animated classic doesn't depend on whether it's something like a feature film or a little cartoon like these.
Alan wrote:but the treasures are expensive.
They're also jam-freakin-packed with bonus features, and they have many more cartoons on them than the barebones CCF DVDs, which is probably why Lars wants them more.
