If you really can't wait for a U.S. release, you could always order a region 2 copy!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... tedisne-21
But is it coming out in the US?

Are you sure that's the movie I'm looking for? If anyone remembers it was about the first time Uncle Scrooge met his nephews. An it just so happen to coincide with the moment he was going to look out for this Golden City in South America. Don't remember all the details but I remember Uncle Scrooge's nemesis was an old dog (Spanish conqueror that somehow remained alive) and towards the climax the temple crumbles and all the gold starts melting.

Could have been the pilot episodes for the series but either way I remember it being sold as a movie.

PS

Thank you all for asking.

I think you are thinking of the feature lenght pilot episode of the TV series.
The First 5 episodes of seaosn one were shown together as a feature lenght pilot because the story followed on from one to the next, and it was a good way to open the series.

These episode are:
Don't Give up the Ship
Wrong Way to Ronguay
Three Ducks of the Condor
Cold Duck
Too Much of a Gold Thing

When edited together the two hour version was called 'Treasure of the Golden Suns'.

Yep ichabod I was just going to say that when I saw your answer.

But anyways, I do remember these episodes being sold as a movie. I do remember since it was one of the first movies I saw/rented

Do you know if they plan on releasing it?

Also you were right. These episodes were nicely done. With lots of action, adventure and and extremely exciting climax.

The other one that you mention now that I think about it I do remember it also. And it was a good one too.

i don't think there are any plans for a release of this on DVD. But a lot of people (including myself) are hoping that all of the Ducktales TV series will be released. Fingers crossed!

Treasure of the lost lamp should be avoided

Post by Jammer »

Treasure of the lost lamp came after the TV show had been on the air for a few years. I loved the show Ducktales as a kid and was very excited when the movie came out. The movie left me with a bad taste in my mouth, especially after the next season of the show started on TV.

There is absolutely no continuity between the events of the show and the movie. There were characters on the show that didn’t exist in the movie, and characters in the movie that never ended up on the show. I was so excited to see the little genie boy (I forget his name) on the show, which never happened. Also Gizmoduck was not in the film at all, which made no sense 'cause he was all over the show, at the time.

This is the only movie based off a TV show, made by the people that made the show, released while the show was still on the air, that I have ever seen that is not tied into the show's plotline.

I never saw this movie again and wish it was never made.

Why is launchpad holding a stitch doll on that cover!? :?

I thought it was a great movie, the fact that it didn't have a continutity with the show didn't mean that much to me. At least they didn't decide to reintroduce the characters as if you had never seen them before. Also gizmoduck sucked, fenton had way too much screen time.

The first five episodes of ducktales did rock, i never knew they were shown as a whole movie........how did i miss that.

Release ducktales on dvd soon!!!!!

I think it's a wrench of some sort, or something like that, you can see it more clearly on the U.K. cover.
