Hi MagicMouse, and welcome to the forum!

Any idea if these are widescreen or with extras?

Darby!!!!!
Do you know if these will be OAR etc?
And if they have english language options on the discs?
Not much is listed under "Tous les détails techniques de cette édition".
Sounds good at any rate! Perhaps Darby will be released as an SE yet!

Here you can find further information for these DVDs:

http://www.dvdnet-fr.com/lire_news_dvd.php?id=96

There don't seem to be any extras, but they all have an English soundtrack ("anglais") and English subtitles ("sst").
Most of them are 5.1 and some are widescreen.

PS. Was Darby O'Gill originally in widescreen or 4:3?

By the way you can buy the DVDs at www.amazon.fr for 14.99 Euro each.
So they're quite cheap.

Thanks for the info Carlo...

According to imdb.com (which countless people will tell me has questionable accuracy) Darby was filmed in 1.75:1. I have no confirmation of this, but I think Disney had starting using widescreen processes by 1959.
Still don't know though...

Guess I wont be picking it up after all. Shame.

Thanks again Carlo & MagicMouse.

Disney started using Widescreen in the early 50s so darby o gill and the little people (1959) could be 1:75.1 like old yeller in 1957 and pollyana in 1960

Darby probably should be 1.75:1, but it will likely be open-matte if the DVD is "fullscreen." Still disappointing.

All are in original theatrical aspect ratio and 16x9 anamorphic except Darby O'Gill (Full Screen 1.33:1 aspect ratio, 4x3) and Dragonslayer (2.35:1 but non-anamophic transfer 4x3 !). Languages are English 5.1/French audio and English/French subtitles. There is absolutely NO bonus materials.

Hi Magic Mouse--thanks for the tip!! I have already ordered Dragonslayer from amazon france, but they still do not have The Gnome Mobile listed. Do you know of any other links where I can order Gnome Mobile ???

it is a shame there is no commentary for dragonslayer as I do remember the creators were inspired by the darker elements of sleeping beauty and Fantasia (the sorcerers apprentice) to create the film.

It is funny. But almost all of those are now available on DVD in America. How funny can it get.
