Jack, indianajdp:

Well, glad to see it looks like an OK package deal. Nice to see I'll be able to grab this movie up again, and in DTS! Notice how Disney says, "Available for a limited time, THE LION KING 2: SIMBA’S PRIDE SPECIAL
EDITION DVD", cause it'll be OOP before parents know it. PICK IT UP WHILE YOU CAN!

With the exception of the shorts ('One by One' and 'Find Out Why') the rest of the disc looks fairly uninteresting.

It isn't going to stop me from buying it!

But unless that making of 'featurette' is 3 hours long, why the hell is this a 2-disc set? Surely that could all fit on to one disc. There can't be more than 40 minutes worth of stuff there...

To make it sound more of a "Special Edition" than it really is, so more people will buy it! Duh!

Nah, I get cha. I does seem rather ridiculous, but that's Esiner's Disney for ya! At least there'll be no chance of having, what's that stuff called that plagued BATB, DVD bits being taken up if there's too much on a disc? I do know this: a DTS Soundtrack takes up a fair bit of room on a disc as well.

Thanks for posting the Press Release. I wonder if Disney offered press releases for Direct to Video movies.

I know what you mean! Disney is going to put an English Dolby Digital, DTS French Stereo and Spanish Stereo tracks on the DVD. Woah... that's a lot of audio tracks. I believe that DTS tracks are about three times larger than a Dolby Digital track of the same length.

The typical bitrates for a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio track is between 384 and 448 kbps while a the typical data rate for Digital Theater Systems 5.1 track is between 754.5 and 1509.25 kbps.

It's still a crime that they are not including the deleted scenes.

Yes, Australia gets it on July 21 (as a SINGLE disc) with:

FEATURETTES:
- Timon & Pumbaa: Find Out Why?
- Lots About Lions
- Proud of Simba's Pride
- Sing along with the Movie
- "One By One" Short
MUSIC VIDEO
- "Love Will Find A Way"
TIMON AND PUBAA'S PRIDE LAND GAMES

Seems we get everything except Rafiki’s challenge and the Virtual Safari?

Hmmm...doesn't sound so bad after all!

Is the "One by One" video any good?

It's great! It has great colors and the story is so nicely put together :) The characters are very well put out and altough they don't talk you can really "get to know them" by just watching them do stuff.

Let's go fly a kite, up to the highest height! :D

Thanks for the Press Release, Luke! :)
I'm still not sure if I want to get this. I already have the video and the DVD bonus features don't really seem worth the 19.99. Sure the "One by One" is new, exciting and something I would indeed buy, but I don't know if its worth it to get this DVD.

I haven't seen this since it was first released on VHS. I know I didn't like it at all then, I remember complaining that even though I got the 'circle of life' theme, it was just a rehashing of the first film. I guess I need to give it a second chance, though, and will definitely buy it (I can't very well have 1 and 1.5, but not 2).

I am actually excited about this sequal personally this one of my favorites I think I even enjoyed this one more than I did the orignal although I can not really remember why. And I like the that Spainsh and French tracks are offered coming from a Latin household sometimes i have younger cousins who coe to visit but dont really speak English. That and I really do enjoy watching the mobvies in French just to see what I can pick up lol. Silly I know. And oh yeah I always love hearing the songs in different languages :D .
