thoughts on the Black Diamond page

Post by toonaspie »

It looks great! I cant wait to see all the cover scans and relive the memories

I guess there are too many DVDs to fit all the cover scans in the release type page, it would be super cool though

I absolutely love it so far. Very informative and interesting, despite the fact that I already own most of the Black Diamond Classics tapes. I hope something similar's done for the Masterpiece Collection later on down the road.

Maybe Gold Collection, Vault Disney, and Limited Issue can be done. I avoided doing it since I thought most people wouldn't want graphics-heavy pages. But then if they're hosted at Amazon, why not? "Special Edition" seems a bit too much to encompass.

In any event, if you'd like to see a gallery of different DVD types, you can always venture to the Shop.

Gold Collection:

Limited Issues (missing Mulan and Pinocchio, which were ported over to the above):

Platinum Editions (and International releases):

Vault Disney and "Special Edition" Vault Disneys:

Disney's "The Black Diamond" releases

Post by interactivemojo »

I just read the ariticle on Disney's earlier VHS "Classic" or Black Diamond VHS releases and realized how long I've been collecting Disney videos. I do remember back in the '80's this series of releases inspiring me to start collecting Disney videos period. I also guess this is what also make me constantly wish Disney would come up with a kinda (collection point if I man) in which all the films consistantly looks like they belonged to the same freaking company LOL AKA Collection of sorts.
Anyway let me know who's out there!!!!!
If you want it, I've got it. Need Disney Treasures, Truelife and some series email me for my list.

Hey Kuddos to Lindsay the page is looking good. It makes me feel old in a way since you know DVD is the thing now but I do have most of the movies on VHS. I am sure the final product will look great :D .

Hi!

just a little question:

do you mean the black triangles at the down-right corner of the cover on the D-videos?

Nah ah. Black Diamond refers to their spine which has the collection title ("The Classics") inside of a black diamond, as you can see in the pics on that page.

Oooh, nostalgy, hehehe... Many years spent watching these versions of the movies (Brazilian VHS's, of course). I'm really looking forward to the high resolution scans.
The text is very informative as well. Congratulations!

All I can say is good job, and I own all of them except Bambi, Sword in the Stone and Peter Pan, all of which I got from the masterpiece collection.
Cheers,

That page is great I have all the Black Diamond VHS and some are even double copies... I wonder if the other Masterpiece Collection like the Lion King, Pocahontas, Toy Story, etc.. will make it to the page.

Heh - glad you guys like it! :D

I spent a good day or so just scanning and editing the covers alone. And of course, the page is a work-in-progress, but so far I think it's pretty good. ^_^
