Whole smorgasbord of stuff!:

Sneak peek of first episode (premiering next month!):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nidb092AGE

And all the D23 info via Disney Television Animation News!:

"DUCKTALES PANEL

PREVIEW FOR BIG HERO 6 THE SERIES, NO COUNTRY CLUB PREVIEW

Sean Jimenez says they went back to the original comics and wanted to recreate the lo...ok of old comics.

Ben Schwartz has a little Dewey on his shirt!

We’re so blessed to have this amazing cast because they feel like a family. It’s the core of everything. - Frank Angones

The new DuckTales show will start with Huey, Dewey, and Louie not knowing they are related to Scrooge McDuck says Matt Youngberg

“When I was a kid coming home from school, hearing the theme song was the first happy moment of my day.” Beck Bennet

I definitely went “wooo hoooo hoooo” for Jewish hahaha by Ben Schwartz

Dewey wants to stand out as the middle child. Louie is the laid back one. Huey is the DuckScout

The new Webby on DuckTales is a “total bad ass”

New adventures will have references to cult & 80’s movies creators grew up with. John Carpenter films mentioned

“Launchpad doesn’t even think he does a bad job. Even when he crashes. It doesn’t even come into his brain”

“For 2 years of my life my ringtone was The Moon Theme from the video game. It’s still on my phone.” by Ben Schwartz

Ludwig Von Drake is confirmed in the new DuckTales + Beakly and Scrooge’s past

“We wanted to represent a world that kids see around them every day, even though it’s a bunch of ducks."

Creators have said they want to mine the vast DuckTales history for characters before they create new ones.

Ludwig von Drake will appear in a "60’s flashback” and the Pogo Cane!

“I love that Launchpad is never down on himself. He’ll crash a plane and be like, I did such a great job!” by beck bennett

Mr Frank Angones says Lin Manuel loves DuckTales so much he sang “The Moon Theme” first day of recording Gizmoduck!

“Beaks are really hard, you guys. Don’t get into the duck drawing business.”

Kate Micucci has made Webby the kind of girl adventurer so often missing from animated spaces. She creates full characters in her head. Takes the boys on single handedly but is also a key member of the group.

Will we see Darkwing Duck in DuckTales? Hmmmm. from Frank Angones & Matt Youngberg

Dude Lin Manuel say “Blathering blatherskite!” for the first time in the DuckTales animatics they showed us and I AM HYPED

The Reboot will reference original cartoons. A couple of episodes will be “reboots” of creator-favorite episodes.

Duckworth will be in the series as well! Remember him in Treasure of The Lost Lamp?!"

I'm glad to hear he's in the series. I had started to think he wouldn't be in it, given that he hasn't appeared in any promotional material nor in the series intro.

Interesting. I had wondered if they were going to do that with full episodes or just with some isolated events.

By the way, here's a recording of the whole DuckTales panel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ9sORqTlq0

Darkwing Duck, really? Will he be voiced by someone new, too, or will he still be voiced by Jim Cummings?

• Video of the DuckTales panel at Comic-Con: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZoKe3vHfOA

• And some new details from the presentation:
  • - The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck was a huge influence on the series and it was required reading for all the writers.

    - A special clip of episode nine was shown where the family goes into a pyramid and gets separated from each other.

    - One of David Tennant's favorite episodes "takes place back in time."

    - The creators of the series wrote it, "like a family comedy. The family just happens to be the greatest adventurers of all time."

    - There will be Disney easter eggs all over the show.

    - A new character will be introduced named Mark Beaks. He's a tech millionaire. Flintheart and Scrooge hate him more than they hate each other.

    - David Tennant said that in "every episode a new corner of (Scrooge's) past is revealed."

    - The producers chose the duck brothers birth order by how the public says their names. So Huey is the oldest, Duey is the middle child, and Louie is the youngest.

I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW EXCITED THIS MAKES ME. I absolutely adore Don Rosa's biography of Scrooge: excitement, adventure, history, even heartbreak. I've stated many times that I've longed to see an animated adaptation in some form, so just knowing that it was a huge influence on this series and required reading for the writers is absolutely amazing. And honestly, I think that graphic novel should be required reading for any DuckTales fan so one can get to know the "real" Scrooge, but that's just me. :P

See, the thing about the original DuckTales series is that it's only one small window to the world of Duckburg, Calisota. It's only one interpretation of the characters and settings that had already existed for decades. Scrooge, Donald, and the gang have had many iterations and many different writers before and after the initial airing of the cartoon. The reboot is yet another iteration that will welcome even more new fans to this world, especially the young'uns. I don't mind that it's updated to be more modern; DuckTales clearly updated Scrooge to the 80s, so it only makes sense that the reboot will update him to today. If we talked about remaining absolutely true to canon, we'd be forever trapped in the past. For example, the original DuckTales should have taken place in the 1940s through the 1960s, as it's generally recognized that Scrooge was born in 1867! If they never allowed new characters within any new iterations, we wouldn't have Launchpad, Fenton/Gizmoduck, Webby, uh ... Bubba? Well, I think I could have done without Bubba. :p Anyway. I'm happy Donald has his role back with Scrooge, but I'm also happy that Launchpad is part of the gang too. I'm glad Webby's been updated from a "me too" tag-along character to one with a distinct personality. I'm also glad the nephews have been given their own personalities rather than acting as one character split into three bodies. Mrs. Beakley seems like an awesome badass to me, someone that can put Scrooge in his place if needed. Can't wait to see the new take on Fenton. I don't mind that we'll see new characters emulating Mark Zuckerberg types; they're a part of this world now too, like it or not. And I absolutely love that we'll get to see Ludwig Von Drake and Darkwing ...

I had already read about his appearance elsewhere, but I must reiterate that I'm super excited to know that it's been confirmed that Darkwing exists in this world. What I hadn't heard yet that Jim Cummings will reprising his role. Kind of awesome, since in my mind Jim has been and always will be Darkwing. :D

Apparently, Magica's design was also shown at Comic-Con along with Darkwing Duck and other characters.
It wasn’t just that a bunch of concept art was “accidentally” shown—featuring Gizmoduck, Megavolt, the Beagle Boys, Magica De Spell, Negaduck, Quackerjack, and, to rapturous cheers, Darkwing Duck—it was the whole experience. Throughout the whole thing, you saw how excited and in love with the show everyone was.

And Disney hasn't officially revealed Darkwing Duck to the public yet, only to the panel attendants. Taking photos of that concept art wasn't allowed, but despite that, someone took that Darkwing picture.

With the passing of the great June Foray now, they'll have to find someone else to voice Magica. Maybe they already have. They've gotten new actors for pretty much everyone else.

I haven't read The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, but I would like to read it, and also the Carl Barks stories. I mainly know Scrooge and the gang from the original TV series. I read some of the comics when I was a child, but I don't remember much from them, other than that Donald was also part of the adventures and that I enjoyed them a lot. My family and I moved from place to place a lot in my childhood, and unfortunately, they got lost in one of the moves, so I don't have them anymore. I don't know if they were the same form the US or not, because I've read that here in Europe they also made their own Disney comics.

Though I love the original TV show, I like that they are also adding elements from the comics. It will probably make the Ducktales world richer and will attract different types of fans. I also understand they have to modernize it a bit for today's audiences, but I hope they haven't modernized it too much. The nephews is what worries me most. I like that they have given them distinct personalities, but so far, they don't seem too likeable to me. The original ones were nicer. Hopefully they are better in the series than in the promotional material and I get used to them. Anyway, I'm really excited about this new series.

Season 1 - Episode 3 : The Beagle Birthday Massacre!

Source: https://www.moviefone.com/tv/ducktales/ ... bDB2/main/

The TV movie (well, it was more like 2 episodes joined together) was good, but the pace and especially the tone were so different to the original series that it didn't feel like Ducktales to me. Not even the characters seemed to be the same ones. But that's normal, I guess, because it's a new interpretation of the Ducktales universe, and it's actually what I was expecting. If I had never seen the original series, I know I wouldn't have had any problems with it. I just need to enjoy it for what it is and not compare it to the old show. I'm going to watch it again with subtitles because I didn't understand almost anything of what Donald says. I have always seen his cartoons in the Spanish dubbing and I understand him in my language, but I'm not used to listening to him in English yet. Probably I will enjoy it more the second viewing.
