Good idea for a thread, Robin Hood.

My first was either Beauty & the Beast or Aladdin. My mom can't remember which one and I can't remember because I was 1 year old at the time. I wish I could describe what feelings and emotions I felt when I saw those movies for the very first time, but sadly, it's hard to remember things when you're that young.

It was either Pocahontas or Toy Story. I can't remember which came out first...I just know I saw them both in a theatre. The only other one I remember seeing is Hercules. We don't go to the theatre often and when we do my husband and I usually have to agree on one that we both want to see. Disney doesn't even make the list most of the time.

This might help your decision, BATB and Aladdin were released almost a year apart.

Beauty and the Beast - November 22, 1991
Aladdin - November 25, 1992

Your first might have been BATB, because by the time Aladdin came out, BATB was probably already available on home video. :)

Semi-discussed here, but anyways...

My first movie ever in theaters was also my first Disney movie in theaters. Aladdin, 1992. Originally I was going to see it with some classmates for a birthday party, but we (my family) got to the theater late, and they were just going in, and it was sold out, so we told them we'll just see the next showing. We saw Aladdin 5 times in 1992. The first was my sibs and my dad, the second was the whole family (sibs, mom, dad), the third was sibs, cousin, and uncle, and the fourth and fifth was the whole family again.

Bambi was the first movie I had ever seen in a movie theater. My dad took me to the 1988 re-release, which made about 6 years old.

I asked my Mom this question and low and behold she came up with a surprising answer. The first Disney movie they took me to was "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".

The first one that I really remember seeing was "Bambi".

I remember when I was a baby, my parents took me to the movies to see "The Small One". It was a a half-hour film, but it was not a feature. That movie came out in 1978, the same year I was born.

My first movie in theatres ever was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1987 rerelease. I was 2. :) I remember looking into the theatre before they started the movie, but that's really all I recall. I thought it seemed exciting.

The Lion King wasn't the only first Disney movie I saw in theaters, it was the first movie I saw in theaters period. I also saw Pocohantas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, and Lilo & Stitch in theaters. I might of seen Hurcules and I don't remember seeing Mulan.

My first movie was The Little Mermaid when it was originally released. My grandma and mom say that me and my brother were afraid of Ursula and she "was a big girl". :P

You know I really can't remember. I was about 8/9 when I first went to see a Disney film at the theatre, I had seen other films on the big screen before, but never a Disney one.

Anyway, it was one of the following:

The Aristicats (90s rerelease)
Oliver and Company (90s rerelease)
The Black Cauldron (90s rerelease)
The Lion King (original release)

Aladdin - My first movie ever. First time around I went with my dad and I left the theatres crying because the Cave of Wonders scared the heck out of me (something even the villians never managed to do :P ). Second time I went it was with my mom and aunt and I watched it all the way through, and it became my favourite childhood movie!

I saw Cinderella in a 1991 UK re-release at the age of two (almost three). I can still remember huge chunks of it, actually.
