Wow, that's clever. Add an "R" to the end "Brave"! Like that's never been done before.

"Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced that they will release on Blu-ray Brave (2012). The film will be available as a Ultimate Collector's Edition Five-Disc Combo Pack and Collector's Edition Three-Disc Combo Pack. Both will be available for purchase on November 13th.

Headstrong tomboy and skilled archer Princess Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) is determined to break with tradition and carve out her own path in life. In defiance of her parents, King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), Merida flies in the face of an age-old custom held sacred by the three principal lords of the land, Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), Lord MacIntosh (Craig Ferguson) and Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Her actions lead to chaos in the kingdom, and it is now up to Merida not only to restore harmony in the land but to undo an ill-fated wish bestowed upon her by a wayward wise woman (Julie Walters).

ULTIMATE COLLECTOR'S EDITON: 5-DISC COMBO PACK

(BD 3D + BD Feature + BD Supplemental Material + DVD + DIGITAL COPY)

DISC 1:
"La Luna" Theatrical Short – Fans will love this charming short that accompanied the film in theatres. It follows a young boy on his first night working the family business alongside his father and grandfather.
"The Legend of Mor'du" Short – This rousing new bonus short film will give fans the chance to delve deeper into the legend behind Mordu, as told by the eccentric witch who transformed him.
Brave Old World – Fans will watch as members of the "Brave" production team investigate Scotland, exploring its land, culture, people and dialects. The research they gathered was brought thrillingly to life in the film. Also, fans will hear what actress Emma Thompson (voice of Queen Elinor) thinks of Pixar's take on her homeland.
Merida & Elinor – With the creation of Merida and Elinor, the Pixar filmmakers delved deep into the relationship between mother and daughter. Highlighting contrasts in character design, clothing, animation, voicing, even hairstyle, watch how the filmmakers explored this most important of relationships.
Bears – Take a look inside the art and design behind the bears in "Brave." Each of the bears, gentle Mum-Bear and terrifying Mor'du, demanded a different approach to creating their physical appearance and personality.
Brawl in the Hall – A fascinating and hilarious inside look at the process of creating "Brave's" fighting Scots, through animation, crowd simulation and fight choreography – not to mention a room full of grunting men whose vocal chortles added authenticity to the raucous scene.
Wonder Moss – Fans will explore how "Brave's" technical artists examined the real Scottish countryside and studied the laws of nature, then turned these findings into computer codes that would blanket Merida's Scotland in lush moss, lichen and bracken.
Magic –The magic and mystery of Scotland is revealed to fans in this charming feature about the legends – from mystical potions to the will-o'-the-wisps – seen in "Brave."
Clan Pixar – At Pixar, getting into character is a team effort. From making Haggis to Kilt Fridays to celebrating the Scottish poet Robert Burns, fans will see how the "Brave" production crew truly embraced Scottish themes and customs fueled the Pixar crew throughout the creation of "Brave."
Once Upon A Scene – A closer look at the evolution of the storylines throughout the production of the film, including alternative openings to the film and many deleted scenes.

Well, that's all interesting. Why didn't Pirates of the Caribbean 4's regular BD pack have the supplemental material BD disc?

Guessing there must have been enough of a response against the foolishness of putting the extras disc only with the 3D on both Pirates 4 and Cars 2.

Found this info on Disney Noticias Mexico via english translate, It talks about the DVD release of Brave this November & the contents on the DVD:

"In November reaches the shelves of the new classic Disney and Pixar, Brave on DVD and Blu-ray and is full of surprises. One of them is a brand new short film in which the Old Sorceress further explained that in the film The Legend of Mor'Du. There are also extended scenes, the short La Luna, behind the scenes, a different and a teaser prologue of Frozen, along with new trailers for Monsters University and Oz: The Mighty".

Could the first teaser for "Frozen" be attachted to the Brave DVD?

Here's hoping.
Smart move by Disney to release the first teaser trailer of Frozen with Brave's DVD. Brave's DVD should sell very well during the holidays.

I found this on Tumblr. It turns out that Merida MIGHT be a Disney Princess after all:
with the rest of the Princesses in a doll set at Target.

Disney Store also tweeted back someone who asked about Merida being included in the UK Charm Bracelet saying “Merida has not yet recieved her coronation”

Time will tell I guess…

I haven't yet seen this in the cinema; is it worth seeing there or is it ok to wait until the home release?

What do you guys think RE Merida being included in the Princess line? At the moment, I am not 100% keen, though that may change when I see the film. Though I thought the whole film was based on her not wanting to conform as other Princesses do....yet she will be inducted into the all-singing, all-tea drinking, party-planning Princesses we all know and love? (see the Princess website to know what I am talking about).

If all goes to plan tomorrow I shall be going to the cinemas to see Brave which I am really looking forward to because it looks like a great film and I am almost certain I am going to enjoy it.

I do however take major issue with Disney trying to include Merida in the Disney Princess franchise! Regardless of whether she is a princess or not a Pixar character does not fit alongside the other ten princesses. I'm sure Merida will be a great strong willed character and I will probably end up liking her once I've seen the movie but it won't make me feel any differently about Disney trying to include her in the line up
I love The Little Mermaid and Ariel

@atlanticaunderthesea

I've been wondering about the no prince, no song etc. While I have to admit that that will be weird that a D. Princess won't have a man or a song, I think Merida will be a great addition. She's more realistic and teaches girls that you don't need a guy. She's a good model.

Hmmm.... I don't like the idea of a pixar character in the lineup sorry! The line up should only consist of WDAS characters in my opinion, It just mixes up the identity of each character and the legacy of both studios! Plus I think that the message in Brave and Merida's rebellion would not fit in to the line up and match the morals of such characters like Snow White. And besides I bet Pixar never intended Brave to be a Disney Princess movie in the first place :P
