Disney Princesses Got a Makeover
Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover
I like it. they all look lovely. That particular clipart of Snow White included the apple on her head, in an "Isaac Newton" style pose But I think she's beautifully drawn. They all are, even in this new style and design.

All of them? Really?Sotiris wrote:New official clipart of all 11 princesses together in the same style.
Sorry, I couldn't resist being snarky, since it doesn't include all of them (despite that this is pre-Frozen).
The Princesses are not as radically different in that shot than their usual designs on the franchise. So they haven't been as radically changed.

What are you talking about? Anna, Elsa, Moana, Elena aren't part of the line-up since they haven't had a coronation ceremony, aren't featured on the Disney Princess website, and aren't included on merchandise together with the other princesses.DisneyFan09 wrote:All of them? I like it. Snow White crosses her arms in the movie when she imitates Grumpy but other than that it really looks odd for her to do that.

Snow White has her arms folded in residue from the "tough, strong" princess poses they tried for five minutes.
Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover
Yeah, that would make more sense. But, I don't know, whenever I see someone with an apple on their head, I think of Isaac Newton.

Hey, that's a pretty good reference, too.
Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover
Anyone noticed that a lot of Disney Princess products started to feature the princesses in this new style? It's also in a lot of upcoming books for 2019. Interesting how they're not only back to their original design, but are also featured in the clothes they appear in Ralph 2 (except Merida). Usually franchise's clip-arts doesn't feature this dress of Mulan, or Snow's cape.

They look awful. I was rightfully afraid that Wreck-It Ralph 2 was going to influence the DP brand. I sincerely hope this isn't permanent. Why are they constantly trying to destroy anything good that's left in this franchise?Raf wrote:Anyone noticed that a lot of Disney Princess products started to feature the princesses in this new style?

I'm sure this is only temporary. But Cinderella's hair color is right!
Disneyprincess11, what did you mean by PJ looks?

I meant how they returned to the original designs, like Ariel's pink dress, and even included elements that were usually not in merchandise, but were featured in Ralph, like this dress of Mulan.disneyprincess11 wrote:You mean in their PJ looks?!

Yeah, I've seen a calendar with this particular design. I love that they got Cinderella's dress and hair right. She looks so much better like that. And they all look on model, especially Snow White and Ariel.

They're heavily stylized versions of the characters. They can't be "on-model" by definition.Sicoe Vlad wrote:And they all look on model, especially Snow White and Ariel.
In case anyone wants to buy the calendar in question, here it is.

I like that they're at least given the colors/hairstyles/dresses they have in the original films, but I'm not fond of the style. *shrug*

Disney is releasing LEGO Disney Princess storybooks where for the first time they all live together in a castle and interact with one another. Another influence of Wreck-It Ralph 2, no doubt.

They are stylized versions, yes, but Snow White and Ariel in particular look on model, at least to meSotiris wrote:
Bonus points for getting Cinderella right. I keep insisting on that, because we rarely (almost never) see her like this on official media.

Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover
I hope they just keep this contained to LEGO but I think we all know that's unlikely. Interesting that while Merida has a LEGO minifigure she's been excluded as a princess in these books.Sotiris wrote:Disney is releasing LEGO Disney Princess storybooks where for the first time they all live together in a castle and interact with one another. Re: Disney Princesses Got a Makeover
I think they look nice . Not my preferred look, but I dig the stylization and some faithfulness to the original designs. Do I wish they were more on-model? Yes, but this is a perfectly appropriate style for storybooks. Come on, we've all seen worse, like that time they all wore gold or that other time when they were covered in jewels head-to-toe.
