I'm doing my best to do a media blackout on this movie. Its really hard though. But I want to go in as fresh as possible.

Would it help if I told you I regretted watching the trailers?

Japanese poster: https://twitter.com/disneystudiojp/stat ... 9818405888

It's very similar to the domestic one, but it seems to me both the trailer and the poster give more prominence to Mr. Incredible than the American ones. Maybe he's more popular there?

New TV spots (mild spoilers in the second one):

- Incredibles 2 - Jack Jack (TV Spot)
- Incredibles 2 - Violet (TV Spot)

Do you think the guy who appears in the second TV spot is Tony Rydinger as it is claimed here? Well, what happens in the TV spot fits with what was told about the character in the footage reports, but he looks so different. If it's indeed him, they've changed his design a lot.

The CGI is sure starting to look realistic. If you take away the characters in this image, it almost looks like a live action picture (also, the cars looks like they belongs in the 60s or something. You just don't see many chrome bumpers these days):

The first Incredibles movie was also a combination of modern technology with 1960s aesthetics. I always loved that aspect of the first movie. I think it came out of Brad Bird wanting to emulate the look of comic books from that era with an additional James Bond influence for good measure.

It is a strange mix of futuristic holograms and computers combined with older elements, like the cars. (When the movie is released I must remember to pay attention to the interior of the house as well, to see if it gives anything away.)

Disney's Divinity wrote:I'm fine with Honey (I didn't even know she had a name...) not appearing. Part of the humor was that she wasn't onscreen anyway, just like Nile's wife on Frasier or Karen's husband on Will & Grace.
This is what she was going to look like. I like her design. I'm kinda disappointed now that we won't get to see her in the film.

^ Brad Bird revealed in an interview that's she will actually appear in the film, but not as Frozone's wife:
“We wanted to show Honey in this movie. We didn’t end up doing it because it’s funnier as a voice. So we actually went through all the trouble of designing a character, and the design appears in the movie, but not as Frozone’s wife. We have used her design and she is a hero [but] there’s not a lot of screen time for it though. The problem is that we have a lot of different things that we want the movie to be about, and the two Incredibles movies are already the longest movies at Pixar, and they are never happy about that.”

I know it's not the same, but at least we'll get to see her design in the movie.

I like the design, so I'm glad it'll go to some use.

I love all the focus Elastigirl is getting in the promos, too. Mother's Day was a good advertising opportunity for this.

Box Office: 'Incredibles 2' Tracking for Heroic $140M-Plus Debut
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat- ... ut-1114590
Disney and Pixar's The Incredibles 2 is tracking for a huge box-office debut of $140 million-plus in North America. If so, that would make the best domestic start ever for an animated movie, exceeding the $135 million launch of fellow Pixar film Finding Dory.

This is an interesting theory on who the villain might be and I personally would prefer this over the predicted choices. I'll put the link in spoiler tags.

Brad Bird has said that one of the things he loves about making the sequel is all the things that are possible now that was not possible when he made the first one. Hope he will point out these things in an interview after the release of the movie.
