This will surely appear at Amazon in about a week or so, as their releases usually do.

Return to Oz is now available to order from Intrada. This 2 CD-set features over 100 minutes of previously unreleased music, including music not used in the film.

David Shire's masterpiece gets the attention it deserves! 2-CD set offers entire 84-minute film score plus another 17 minutes of additional cues as well as complete album that was originally issued on Sonic Atmospheres. Fascinating differences between two versions abound: Initially presented in 1985 from Eric Tomlinson's live two-track session mixes plus select remixes, Shire originally chose 12 tracks, assembled them into beautiful, creative album. However, those mixes did not always contain variety of additional colors (tympani, xylophone, triangle, mandolin) as those were captured on separate channels of the 2" 24-track elements only - such as solo tympani at the start of "Opening Sequence". Shire expressed joy at having Intrada tackle the expense of locating complete session elements housed in Walt Disney vaults, restoring all tracks and allowing entire score to shine! Previously unreleased music is plentiful, including powerful "Mombi's Awake" sequence, exciting "Wheelers Pursue" cue, entire climactic 11-minute confrontation with Nome King, much more. Listeners can enjoy entire masterpiece in chronological sequence with everything Shire recorded in glorious full mixes as intended, then savor 1985 highlights album with sequencing designed for purely musical listening via abbreviated album mixes. Both offer rewards! Walter Murch tackles complex, dark story of Dorothy returning to magical land of Oz only to find all in ruins, her beloved friends gone. Shire frames magnificent score with genuine Americana warmth, tender sadness, wistful nostalgia - then fills musical canvas with incredible fantasia replete with themes for numerous new characters, dramatic passages, soaring climaxes, powerful action music, you name it. When all is finally said and done, Shire wraps with one of film score's all-time most sweeping, classic-style finales featuring Michael Davis, lead violinist of London Symphony Orchestra. Fun tidbit: At conclusion of moving finale, film wraps with rousing quote of Shire's "rag march" idea. That also premiere's in this 2-CD release as an extra on disc 2. Detailed notes by Tim Greiving offer details of sumptuous production, beautiful graphics with "flipper" cover design by Joe Sikoryak showcase two sides of legendary artist Drew Struzan. David Shire produces, supervises entire Intrada project. This is truly Shire's magnum opus come to life at last. Herbert Spencer orchestrates, David Shire, Harry Rabinowitz conduct London Symphony Orchestra. Intrada Special Collection release available while quantities and interest remain!

One of Intrada's earliest Bruce Broughton soundtracks gets a complete makeover! More than twice the music now! Broughton scores this Walt Disney Pictures classic, Duwayne Dunham directs, Robert Hays, Kim Greist star, Michael J. Fox, Don Ameche, Sally Field provide voices for two dogs and one cat. Warmhearted 1993 tale is a remake of Disney's own 1963 live-action adaptation of Sheila Burnford's novel chronicling the incredible journey three house pets make to reunite with their owners. Broughton anchors outdoor tale with expansive, diatonic main theme, but judiciously holds back on it until perilous journey gets underway. Ideas both humorous, dramatic play first and throughout. Initial 30-minute CD release captured several highlights but necessarily omitted many sequences. Amongst new material is powerful "Sassy In The River", dramatic "Shadow's A Hero", complete dog pound escape sequence with rousing interpolation of Lalo Schifrin's "Mission: Impossible" theme, intense "Shadow's Fall", wild "Birdzilla", many others. Entire CD presented from two-track digital stereo session masters made by Armin Steiner at 20th Century Fox Studios Scoring Stage in November 1992, vaulted in pristine condition courtesy Disney. Informative liner notes by Jeff Bond plus flipper-style booklet design and colorful graphics from Joe Sikoryak. Bruce Broughton conducts. Now available: the unused music by Georges Delerue (it was replaced with music by James Horner) for Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Image
Important, complete release of magnificent, yet never-used soundtrack from 1983 Walt Disney production based on classic Ray Bradbury novel. Jason Robards, Jonathan Pryce, Diane Ladd, Pam Grier star, Jack Clayton directs, Bradbury himself scripts. Years ago, Intrada premiered dynamic, early James Horner soundtrack eventually used in film. Now, near-legendary unused score by Georges Delere gets a complete release unto its own. Delerue opens with rich, chordal motif for low brass that is simultaneously regal, unsettling. As score progresses, motif reveals itself to be variant of primary theme for Mr. Dark (Pryce) and his frightening carnival. Delerue uses theme throughout score, often in masterful disguises that include everything from eerie choral intonations to subtle woodwind treatment. Harmonically-rich, dramatic idea even gets demented, minor-key statement, recorded on large pipe organ for calliope sequence. Other ideas abound: winding, sinewy melody for strings, cor Anglais during "The First Witch", glistening water effects from bowed vibraphone for "Mirrors", haunting music box melodies, much more. Especially moving is heartfelt, memorably sad theme for strings, introduced during early bedtime scene ("Halloway's Bedroom"), then fully realized during moving father/son sequence "You'll Live Forever". Minor-key theme offers Delerue writing in his finest melodic mode. Special spotlight goes to climactic "Dark Dies" cue, providing composer opportunity to write arguably his most powerful film music ever. When fireworks are over and midget person retrieves body of Dark, Delerue returns to his opening chordal motif for low brass in stroke of pure musical genius. Composer himself considered music to be amongst his all-time finest, written for massive orchestra with chorus in tow. Entire score presented in stereo, newly mixed and mastered from 2" 24-track session masters vaulted by Disney in pristine condition. Beautiful "flipper" cover design by Joe Sikoryak provides two gorgeous, early Bob Peak artwork campaigns intended for American posters but not used. Informative booklet notes by Tim Greiving provide insight into difficulties in readying film production for release into theaters. Georges Delerue conducts. Intrada Special Collection CD available while quantities and interest remain!

Intrada has released an expanded edition CD of Bruce Broughton's music for The Rescuers Down Under.

Image

Intrada tackles Disney world of animation soundtracks with expanded premiere of rousing, tuneful Bruce Broughton score for The Rescuers Down Under, sequel to famed studio's 1977 cartoon feature The Rescuers. Mike Gabriel, Hendel Butoy direct, Bob Newhart, Eva Gabor, George C. Scott, John Candy, Adam Ryen provide voices, Bruce Broughton scores. His first animation movie music is robust, melodic, exciting, powerful. Aerial adventures of Bernard and Bianca as they travel to Australia on rescue mission inspire Broughton to create not one but two major themes in soaring fashion. One is winding idea in sunny major key that moves up and down in equal doses, the other is forward-leaping idea in lydian mode that propels much of the action. But Broughton has so much more to say, with moments for romance, humor, color, down under locale… and dynamic, wildly profuse action. The excitement never stops until the event-filled journey is over! Disney released 35 minutes of highlights on CD at time of movie's release. Intrada CD offers everything from that 1990 album but now expands entire presentation to 63 minutes plus an additional 10 minutes of alternates. Highlights of previously unreleased material are many but deserving special spotlight are several dynamic, aggressive sequences for evil poacher McLeach (George C. Scott) - almost all of them absent from earlier album. Aggressive ideas for villainous character feature dynamic, chopping figures for trombone, slashing responses from upper brass. Entire recording benefits from unusually crisp performances, captured in sizzling manner by Robert Fernandez at Warner Bros.Studios with additional recording done by Armin Steiner at 20th Century Fox Studios. Entire CD mastered from digital two-track scoring session mixes courtesy Disney. One of legendary composer Bruce Broughton's most dynamic soundtracks ever! Informative notes by Tim Greiving, flipper-style booklet cover design by Joe Sikoryak gives listeners choice of new artwork taken from exciting theatrical poster campaign or dramatic 1990 album cover. Bruce Broughton composes, conducts. Intrada Special Collection CD available while quantities and interest remain!

THE HAUNTED MANSION
Composed and Conducted by MARK MANCINA
INTRADA Special Collection 364

Image

In celebration of Halloween 2016, Intrada premieres Mark Mancina's score to the 2003 Disney film adaptation of the world-famous Haunted Mansion ride at Disney theme parks around the world. When composer Mancina was brought in by director Rob Minkoff, Minkoff asked Mancina to capitalize on the “Grim Grinning Ghosts” melody, and he did so with gusto. “I love that theme,” Mancina says, “so that was a really fun little piece to go to—because, really, the movie has extremely little to do with the ride, but that was the one thing we could really call back to, and throw in here and there and have fun with.” The opening title ushers us into the familiar chambers of the ride, and from there Mancina references the tune in a diverse range of variations. His lengthy score that spills over onto a second CD, contains both highly charged action sequences and, at heart, an achingly beautiful minor-mode idea for Elizabeth, the lost love that so haunts mansion owner Edward Gracey.

The soundtrack released at the time of the film featured mostly vocals with one score track by Mancina. This new edition focuses on Mancina's score, including alternates and extras, and was sourced from the digital two-track stereo scoring session mixes.

The Haunted Mansion tells the tale of a wealthy plantation owner (Nathaniel Parker) in antebellum New Orleans, whose forbidden love for a beautiful black woman, Elizabeth (Marsha Thomason), resulted in a tragic end for them both. In the present day, real estate agent Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) and his wife Sara (also Thomason) and their two children are summoned to the mansion under the ruse of selling it. There they encounter a forbidding butler (Terrence Stamp), the mysterious Master Gracey, and a host of ghosts trapped inside the mansion and adjacent cemetery. Gracey reveals that he wants Sara for himself, convinced by his butler that she is in fact Elizabeth—and it takes the help of some friendly haunts (played by Jennifer Tilly, Wallace Shawn and Dina Waters) to uncover the truth and set Gracey, Elizabeth and the house’s captive ghosts free.

The funny thing is I literally just interviewed DuckTales the series composer Ron Jones, who spent a lot of time going over how fans could get the TV soundtrack on CD/ iTunes. With the release of the movie soundtrack, I'd say helping it sell well in a short amount of time would go a long way to the efforts of getting the TV soundtrack released.
Disney's Divinity wrote:I'm assuming "End Credits" features the theme song?
I can't fully remember as it's been a little bit since I've seen the film, but I do remember cues from the TV theme being in the end credits. By and large, this is a totally different soundtrack from the TV show that said with 90-95% of the score brand new for the film.

It doesn't seem so. Intrada would have mentioned it on their site. The end credits in the film is clearly edited and uses the theme song twice: in the beginning and at the end. The CD features David Newman's original music.

Finally! One of the biggest Disney/Intrada releases I've been waiting for: Who Framed Roger Rabbit!!!:

http://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1 ... egory=-113

"Knockout Alan Silvestri soundtrack gets royal treatment! Smash-hit Touchstone Pictures & Steven Spielberg presentation finds Robert Zemeckis blending live action, animation in masterful ground-breaking fashion. 1988 film stars Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Stubby Kaye, Charles Fleischer, Joanna Cassidy… plus animated Roger Rabbit, Jessica Rabbit and plenty of “Toons”. Reunion of Spielberg, Zebecks & Silvestri after 1985 blockbuster Back To The Future spawns Los Angeles 40’s-era whodunit with boozed gumshoe Eddie Valiant sucked into solving murder of Toontown’s owner, with Roger, Jessica, Eddie’s deceased brother and evil Judge Doom all participants in solid mystery. Along the way are cameos from Disney’s Dumbo, Fleischer’s Betty Boop, Donald & Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, many others. Classic scenes abound! Animated “dueling pianos” sequence with pair of ducks is a visual/aural highlight. Accompanying music by Liszt, arranged by Silvestri and featuring two ducks wacky dialog was included on original 1988 Disney album of soundtrack highlights. Intrada 3-CD release presents both premiere of complete cue sans dialog on CD 1, original album version on CD 3. Mammoth Silvestri score itself runs nearly 100 minutes across discs 1 & 2, with numerous alternates following on CD 2. Film is scored wall-to-wall with literal smash-up of original score, music bits, songs, Interestingly, majority of original Silvestri cues are heavily truncated in film. Intrada release premieres them in their full-length versions as originally recorded by composer. Eddie Valiant theme in smoky ’noir style’ for solo trumpet plays in balance to sinister Judge Doom theme for low strings with chimes. In between are frantic, dazzling action sequences in signature Silvestri manner for full orchestra, sometimes featuring additional jazz combo of top U.S. players generating further excitement within resources of full London Symphony Orchestra. Danger and excitement become keynote, especially in rousing last half hour! Sexy, sultry vocal number by Jessica Rabbit (“Why Don’t You Do Right?”) another smoky highlight! Alternates include cues written for but dropped from film entirely. But there’s much more! Also appearing are four complete “Cartoon Short” scores featuring Roger Rabbit that appeared in front of subsequent Disney films: Premiere of complete Silvestri score for Who Framed Roger Rabbit’s opening “Maroon Cartoon” with Roger babysitting Baby Herman plus dizzying Bruce Broughton scores for Rollercoaster Rabbit (1990) and Trail Mix-Up (1993) with James Horner score for Tummy Trouble (1989) bringing CD 2 to a close. CD 3 presents original 1988 Disney soundtrack album, preserving Silvestri’s own 46-minute presentation balancing score highlights with songs. Entire release newly mastered from Disney vault elements and presented courtesy of Disney Enterprises and Amblin Entertainment. Digital editing & assembly by Douglass Fake, mastered by Patricia Sullivan at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Informative notes by Tim Greiving, colorful booklet design by Kay Marshall. Special thanks to Roger Feigelson for helping bring vast array of licensing challenges across the finish line! Bruce Broughton cartoons: Armin Steiner records & mixes with Broughton conducting. James Horner cartoon: Shawn Murphy records & mixes with Horner conducting. Who Framed Roger Rabbit cartoon and score: Dennis Sands records & mixes, James Campbell orchestrates, London Symphony Orchestra performs, Alan Sylvestri composes, conducts. Intrada Special Collection 3-CD set available while quantities and interest remains!"
