In an interview with the James Horner Film Music website, Roger Feigelson from Intrada talks about a possible release of The Rocketeer by James Horner:
What would it take to one day have the complete scores of, for instance, Balto, The Perfect Storm, The Rocketeer, etc.?
Just time. Most albums are possible; it's just a matter of getting to them. One might ask why we haven't done Rocketeer yet and I could only answer, well we just released a two-CD set of the complete Clear & Present Danger. I could have done Rocketeer first and then we'd be asked, what would it take to have a complete Clear & Present Danger? Everything in good time. I hope!

Intrada has announced on their message board that they will be releasing John Debney's music for Hocus Pocus on October 1. No tracklist is available yet, but this is the artwork:

My guess is it'll be the same as the promo disc that's been floating around online for years, but if it's longer that'd be great.

Not expecting it to include "Come Little Children" or "I Put a Spell on You".

Intrada said this about the songs:
The "Come Little Children" vocal is included. The theme is by Horner, which Debney uses throughout the score, which is why there's that Horner touch in the score. The Midler song was going to be included, but finding the master was a challenge and we simply ran out of time to make the screening date.

The I Put a Spell on you part of the movie is one of the few (if not only) memorable parts of the movie. It's inclusion should have been a top priority from a company like Intrada.

I'm sure it was a top priority for Intrada, but they also had to release the CD before the 20th anniversary screening on October 19.

The CD is now available for ordering.

At last! Oft-requested complete soundtrack by John Debney for popular Walt Disney Halloween tale, directed by Kenny Ortega, starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy. Upon resurrection of 300 year-old trio of wicked witches, modern-day teenagers plus ageless immortal cat help finally bring witches reign of terror to end. John Debney gets then-first really big scoring break, writes for massive orchestra with female chorus in tow. Themes are rousing, tuneful. Highlights abound but action sequences often take center stage. Complete score appears in dynamic stereo from 48-channel digital scoring session elements housed at Walt Disney studios. James Horner was originally slated to score 1993 film, became unavailable, but did write haunting theme for Sarah, aka Garden Of Magic, beautifully sung by Sarah Jessica Parker. Debney also adapts gently sad Horner melody in portions of his own original score. Intrada CD offers all of those sequences plus alternate scoring segments including delicate never-before-heard alternate end credits (track 32 in "the extras" section of CD) that provides lovely contrast to rousing fortissimo end credits (track 27.) Colorful packaging compliments sensational "razzle dazzle" score! John Debney conducts. Intrada Special Collection release available while quantities and interest remain!

Well poop. I was excited about the idea of a totally clean version of I Put A Spell On You finally being out there, but I guess my edit will have to do for now. (As in editing the opening part into what plays during the ending credits. That doesn't get rid of all movie dialogue...just part of it.) But to finally have a clean version of Come Little Children? Praise Him!

Oooooo. Even though I have the soundtrack already, I'd love the complete Balto score. Hopefully they do that soon. Also, Intrada should really do the Don Bluth films *coughthumbelinacough*, because a lot of those soundtracks are seriously difficult to track down at decent prices.

What would it take to get Intrada's albums on Spotify? It's become my main music player, but it's missing quite a few great soundtracks, some of which Intrada have released.

Available from Quartet Records in Spain:

Image

You can listen to soundclips on the Quartet Records website (http://www.quartetrecords.com). You can also order the CD from there (shipping begins next week). The CD is not available yet in US stores like http://www.screenarchives.com, http://www.intrada.com or http://www.moviemusic.com, but I'm sure it will be within a few days. The music is performed by a brass band.

Meh... seems unlike something you'd expect from a company like Intrada.

Seems like an excuse to have incomplete albums and have Intrada be the hero of the day by releasing the score.
