Does anyone knows when is going to appear Pocahontas? I'm waiting for her and for the release of some dvds with Belle's and Mulan's stories...

Hi! Has anyone found any info on the newest episode on July 1, The Littlest Princess? The four new episodes for July are The Littlest Princess, Buttercup Amber, Carol of the Arrow and Sidekick Cleo.

Unfortunately no news about it. But I have the notion that she (unfortunately) won't appear, considering that she's quite neglected.

Its interesting she hasnt come back to perform as anything for Merida, as she does quite a lot of voiceover work in the UK. I keep hearing her on adverts and wondering why she will do that but not bother for Merida ?

First look at Merida in the show. You can find more details about her cameo, here.

What's Merida's lesson going to be? To whine like a brat and curse everyone who's against you? Haha.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

That article officially confirms that Ruth Connell is voicing Merida in this episode.

A new DVD featuring Belle, Jasmine, Mulan and Tiana is coming September 29.

There are going to be 6 episodes on this DVD, one more than the usual 5, because Jasmine's episode was already available on DVD. Those are the episodes:
- Two to Tangu (Special Appearance by Jasmine)
- The Amulet and the Anthem (Special Appearance by Belle)
- Princesses to the Rescue! (Special Appearance by Mulan)
- Winter’s Gift (Special Appearance by Tiana)
- Gizmo Gwen
- Minimus is Missing

I'm sure they are putting Jasmine's episode for a second time because of the Diamond Edition of Aladdin. They always do that:

Cinderella Diamond Edition (October 2012) - Sofia movie featuring Cinderella premiered November 2012

The Little Mermaid Diamond Edition (October 2013) - Sofia DVD with Ariel released November 2013

Sleeping Beauty Diamond Edition (October 2014) - Sofia DVD with Aurora released November 2014

Aladdin Diamond Edition (October 2015) - Sofia DVD with Jasmine released September 2015

She looks good !!

I wonder why she now isn't voicing Merida anymore ? Looks like Ruth has officially taken over the role.

So, I'm watching listening to the Disney Princess songs and I noticed:

1) Rapunzel's singing voice sounds nothing like Mandy Moore. Her singing sounds too whiny
2) Tiana has a different singing voice in Australia. Her voice sounds a little too high and young for Anika. Compare this to the USA version, which sounds exactly like Anika.

BTW: Isn't Olaf supposed to be in the Library episode with Merida?

That sounds like the same U.S. version, and it does indeed sound like Anika. And Rapunzel is sung by Mandy Moore, just in a different vocal range. You can her Mandy's inflections coming through as well in the song.

Nope!

Olaf is going to appear Spring 2016:
Then in spring 2016, we will see the return of Miss Nettle. In ‘The Tale of Miss Nettle,’ Sofia’s amulet summons her to the Secret Library, where she hears the exciting ‘Tale of Miss Nettle.’ It’s up to Sofia to finish the story. Along the way, she meets a very special friend: Olaf the Snowman!

Olaf, voiced again by Josh Gad, will appear on Sofia the First on February 15th in the episode "The Secret Library: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle".

Merlin (from The Sword in the Stone) appeared on last Friday's episode!!! :o

It was totally unexpected, right? I haven't read anything about him being on this show!

I love how Morgana was included as well, although her design isn't nearly as exciting as Princess Ivy's.

It looks like Pocahontas will be the only official Disney Princess who won't be making an appearance on the show.
Q: Hey, Craig! How close are you to getting Irene Bedard and Judy Kuhn to reprise Pocahontas on Sofia the First?

Craig Gerber: TBH, not that close. It's been very hard to find a story w/ Pocahontas that works and we've tried numerous times.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 8371715072
Q: Why did you never include Pocahontas in Sofia the First like the other 10 Princesses of the lineup?

Craig Gerber: We tried to include her a few times but the stories never panned out.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 4715556864
Q: Why didn’t Pocahontas guest star in Sofia the First?

Craig Gerber: It's a long story which I've discussed on Twitter before. We tried to include but it didn't work out.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 8953991168
Q: It would have been nice if Pocahontas, Moana, and especially both Anna & Elsa have made appearances in new Sofia the First episodes.

Craig Gerber: If it was solely up to me, I would have had them all on, but the thing to remember is that we had to get permission from various folks for every princess we put in the show. It wasn't just as simple as coming up w/ a good story for them.

Q: But you repeatedly said the reason Pocahontas wasn't featured on the show was because you couldn't find the right story for her. Now you're saying you couldn't get permission to use her?

Craig Gerber: Let me clarify. I never found the right story that made everyone besides myself happy. We had several great stories. As for other princesses, after being denied permission for one when I really needed her, I decided I didn't care to ask again about her or the rest.

Q: For which princess were you denied permission? Must have been either Anna or Elsa 'cause I remember you saying that you only had a small window to use them that closed after the Frozen 2 announcement.

Craig Gerber: Not going to get into details. A lot goes on behind the scenes. We probably could have gotten other princesses in the show but it had become a hassle to do so and the show is ultimately about Sofia and her journey.

Q: Well, glad you said that you would have them on if you could but now you say it's a hassle? You say two different things to people when they ask sometimes.

Craig Gerber: These things aren't contradictory. It is a hassle dealing with internal company politics.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 5306245120
Craig Gerber: We tried multiple times and we had stories that the writing staff and myself liked but it was just one of those things where along the way we just couldn't get consensus across the board on whether that fit with the show or maybe there's something off with the story from other people's points of view...But we really did try our best and I think there were probably like three times that we tried to include Pocahontas before I finally gave up. Or really run out of time. I shouldn't say gave up. You know, if we had a fifth season I would have ve probably made another run at it.

Q: And I'm sure Moana would have showed up too.

Craig Gerber: Yeah. Exactly. The newer princesses were harder to get the sign off for because Feature was dealing with them but I'm sure that we would have been able to do it eventually.

How can it be hard? Just do an episode with nature and animals. Heck, Snow White and Aurora did nothing in their episodes that had nature and animals, but yet Pocahontas is "hard" to figure out

And I doubt the kiddies will be actively searching for an understandable and convincing plot.

I know. It's ridiculous. The princesses cameos are all gratuitous to begin with. None of them are necessary to the plot. Something must have changed because last year he seemed sure Pocahontas would eventually appear on the show. Maybe they feared a backlash if they didn't do justice to Pocahontas? I don't know.
Q: Will Pocahontas be making an appearance in the show next season?

Craig Gerber: Not in Season 3.
Source: https://twitter.com/_CraigGerber/status ... 5425447936
Q: Will we ever see Pocahontas, Merida, Anna and Elsa? Including unofficial princesses?

Craig Gerber: You will see all of official Disney princesses by the end of the series, but only one in season 3.

Seems like excuses because they know Pocahontas is the least popular princess. Or maybe they're worried about some sort of historical backlash although the boat has sailed on that.
