taoayumu, thanks for posting about that limited edition shirt on hellyeahtangled--bought one! Also I totally know what you mean about that "empty" feeling...that's how I felt at first, until I realized I could just go see the movie again & again and there really wasn't a void :)

Also, I was thinking about writing some fanfic so if I do I'll let you know....it might be a little on the sexy side, though

(I should just make a tumblr so I can talk to you directly! )

Everyone else---I am so, so happy everyone seems to be loving the movie! Honestly seeing it early wasn't as much fun as I'd thought it would be, because something like this is SO MUCH BETTER when you can share the experience.

One other thing: I don't think anyone ever refers to Mother Gothel as "Gothel" in the movie....aside from the prologue. Hadn't noticed that before!

Your welcome! Maybe you can post pictures of the shirt when you get it?

I don't feel that empty feeling anymore after talking about it with other people who seen the film. I believe my reasons I felt that 'empty' feeling I was dealing with some "computer" issue, while I was seeing Tangled.

Don't worry I love my fanfics to be a bit on the sexy side

You should totally make a tumblr! You might get addicted though :D

I like the "I See The Light" clip. The song is beautiful, the visuals looks great. Not to mention that Flynn looks soooo cute in it.

It's so surreal knowing this movie is out now--I've been aware of its development since at least 2006-2007 and have been constantly lurking the forum for new info in the past six months to grab onto the scraps of new material...and now it's out! I just hope I can see it before the end of Thanksgiving break, either tomorrow or Saturday evening.

I'm glad to see that the box office numbers look promising--on the other hand, though, am I the only one that feels a little nervous about how Disney will interpret the numbers? HOPEFULLY this will convince them that there is still a place for fairytale-based and/or musical films in the industry...but knowing how they interpreted the box office numbers for PatF I'm afraid that they'll instead interpret this as "Oh, see, Tangled's BO vs PatF's BO proves that people don't want hand-drawn animation anymore" or something equally asinine. :(

I'm a little worry about that as well?

Now is not the time to worry about that, all that matters is getting people to go see THIS movie. Let Tangled have it's moment in the sun if it's meant to be.

No one's posted this yet-it's the scene where Flynn is fighting with Rapunzel's frying pan.

BTW yay for adding on to this-wow-five part topic.

I just checked by the Boxofficemojo and saw Tangled's box office numbers, and when I saw it was like over $11 million, I was like "That... that's not a very impressive gross. -_-"

Okay, granted it's only been out for a day, but still. I was hoping to see more impressive numbers.

It's the biggest opening day for a Thanksgiving release. Ever. What were you expecting?

The previous biggest Thanksgiving opening day was Toy Story 2's $9.6 million.

It's also the biggest opening day for a Disney animated feature since The Lion King.

On Tuesday I was visiting my cousin's house. He has a 10 year old son and a 13 year old daughter. Not surprisingly, they were watching Glee when an ad for Tangled came up. The 10 year old boy started gushing about how excited he was about the movie, and how he and all his friends wanted to see it together on the weekend and how much he loved the trailer. I told him I saw it already and he asked me for a review. Being me, I told him every good detail about the movie. He listened-untill I told him it was a musical. He was lke :o and said, "Really? Are you sure?" I told him I was honest and he shouted, "NO. You're not! I've seen the trailer!" He honestly believed that the trailers were true. I showed him some samples of the music (ITunes on my IPhone) and he was shocked. He told me he hated musicals (his sister was watching Glee, not him) and thought it would be a comedy like Shrek (which he loved.) I tried to convince him it was an amazing film but refused to listen. He said he didn't want to see the movie anymore. I noticed 2 odd things:

#1. He loved the trailer and all his friends did too (maybe Disney DID make a right choice about catering to boys-DID I JUST SAY THAT?)

#2. I just took dozens of dollars away from Disney. I knew he would tell everyone what I told him and we've got to face it. Disney Princess Musicals aren't appealing to 10 year old boys.

Yes, that $11.6 million opening day translates into mid $60 million 5-day weekend. If word of mouth is strong enough it could go higher, but let's keep it conservative for now.

I don't think it's sinking in yet around here just how big a deal this really is. Disney hasn't had a legitimate hit in years. Sure Enchanted and Lilo & Stitch did well enough. But for these type of numbers we're going all the way back to Tarzan people.

We've got ourselves a new classic! :)
