Awesome work. Love the Rapunzel one especially the back.

Disney should treat their titles better.

Here is my first custom Disney Blu-ray/DVD cover:

Imagine, if you will, that in some alternate version of history, The Black Cauldron became the blockbuster it was meant to be. Naturally, we’d be getting a Diamond Edition release eventually, and it might look something like this…

Image

I pieced this together from stuff found on the internet. Does anyone know what release the background image is from? I found it on Google Images.

WOW GREAT JOB MJW
Really GREAT job !!!

What I would do as well maybe is put the horned king in the right corner down on the Blu, where you have a little empty black spot!

But stil, awesome job man 8)

Thanks :) Yeah, it does look a little empty down in the lower right corner. Maybe I'll mess with it some more and get the Horned King in there.

By popular demand, here is my proposed "Diamond Edition" The Black Cauldron cover, now with the Horned King...

Image

I had a hard time finding a picture of the Horned King at a decent resolution, and settled on using a picture of what I think was a resin statue or toy. I tried to make it look like it was drawn, but not sure how convincing this will come across! :?:

I actually just photoshopped the title out of there from a high resolution pic of the poster.

Lol :)
it's a little too big compared with the others, try his one ( if you want offcourse :) )

But without the letter and maybe a little bigger ( just a suggestion, the artist still decides :) )
But still GREAT JOB MJW

Love the other covers that have been shared here. I hope to see more. I have my latest update on the one I've been working on. My main question is, is the spine easier to read? Does it look good? Thanks.

I hope to work on it some more soonish.

BEST COVER EVER

If only he just matched the style of the other characters more, but seriously, I thought it was going to look worse with him in there filling space, but you proved me wrong like I never thought it could be.

stitchje1981, I think it looks like the Horned King is in front of the Cauldron, closer to us, so he's bigger!

pettla77, I also like your Tangled cover a lot!

Thanks Disney Duster :) Yep, it's supposed to look like the Horned King is in the foreground, while Taran & Co. are "foiling his plans" in the background, lol.

I just wish I could either get a better picture of the Horned King to start with, or work this one more to look like it was drawn alongside the characters in the background. I was working at a high resolution so it was hard finding a picture of the King that wasn't tiny and/or in a really bad quality.

pettla77, you're cover is excellent! I really like your use of black, it adds mystery and intrigue.

milojthatch, your case is turning out great too. I think the spine is just fine, it comes across as easy to read. It's a cool idea to group your movies in sets, it'll be a lot easier to organize them that way!

i rate it 4/5. the horned king is mismatched with the rest and a little scary to boot. also the image of taran and the spine are mismatched in angle.

otherwise great job! :D

Wow, The Black Cauldron cover looks amazing. Looks a lot like a cover Disney would put out, and even better than the ones they do. And I agree, the black corner does look auspicious to fit in the Horned King and maybe even Creeper.

You should try using some screen captures from this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/user/DisneyFTW1
He has a whole library of Disney HD transfers including The Black Cauldron. Could make good use as reference.

Here's some reference pictures for possible use.

People right here are really creative. Disney need to hire people from the forum.

If they ever come here scouting for cover design artists, I'd jump on board in a minute! I'd have to relocate and everything, but I'd be willing to do so to chase my dream! :)
