Kingdom Hearts III

Post by yamiiguy »

Kingdom Hearts producer Tetsuya Nomura claims that Disney's already clamouring for Square Enix to do a third in the cross-over RPG series.

Speaking to Dengeki PlayStation in an interview partially translated by IGN, Nomura says Squenix has "already been approached by the Disney side saying that they want us to make it".

But whether that'll happen is something he can't predict at the moment, with the team's schedule full up with the likes of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. "We have various ideas, but we're not at the point where we can say [we'll do it]," Nomura admits, adding that the hectic schedule means "it's physically impossible at the present".

The Kingdom Hearts team is currently working on the Japanese "Final Mix" edition of the sequel, which recently came out in Europe and won critical acclaim in most quarters.

I liked the Kingdom Hearts game. I do think that the second one might have been a little too easy to beat on all 3 levels. I do agree that it might ruin the ending of the second one, but the games are fun. I wouldn't mind playing a third one as long as it was a little more dificult then the second one. 8)

It's no wonder they're interested, the game was at the top of the bestselling game list for 3 months straight (and still on it at a lower level for another). And I disagree about another one ruining the ending, considering that there're hints for a sequel all over the place (the scenes following the credits especially). Besides, it's horrible to end a series on a 2.

If you've seen the secret ending to Kingdom Hearts 2, then a third game could very well involve [spoilers]the keyblade war[/spoilers] or it could [spoilers]follow Sora and his friends on that new quest Mickey's letter informed them about[/spoilers].

Personally, I wouldn't mind another handheld game or two during the downtime it takes to make Kingdom Hearts III. I loved Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and having a KH game on the Nintendo DS would be excellent.

I have to wonder what new secret ending they'll add to Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix...

Not to be rude, but Nomura stated that KH is Sora's story. If Sora isn't in it, then there'd basically be no point.

Maybe Mickey will take over from there?

The only problem with that is that the broader market might not want to play a solely Disney game. I, myself, enjoy the original parts of the story more than the re-runs of the Disney movies (especially in KH2, where they weren't that creative when using the Disney characters) and many people wouldn't pick up the game if it were solely Disney. In fact, I think Sora was intended to be a human version of Mickey in his original concept anyway (red suit and big yellow shoes?). Some people find it hard to identify with a mouse.

I personally hope that they release more Kingdom Hearts games. I really enjoyed them. And there was that teaser trailer at the end if KH 2 if you unlocked it. Plus, I want more of the Sora/Kairi relationship. Will he just kiss her already?! LOL.

But due to the huge success of the game and the demand for a new one I don't see why they wouldn't create a KH 3 or even further.

Hello,

While I love Kindom Hearts as much as the next disney/Square Enix Fan.... Also I would love a Kindgom Hearts III. However lets first work on getting Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and the special Playstation 2 Version of Kingdom Hearts Chain Of Memories over to America or somewhere else other than Japan. In case you are thinking what I am talking about read more on this site below. It will give you a lot more info and I am sure there is somewhere on the site that links you to a Online Petition to get Kindgom Hearts II Final Mix and at least Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories which is the second bonus game that is packaged with the Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix Game due out next year I think in Japan. So Lets work on getting those to games out to consoles besides the ones in Japan. Anyway below is the link to this wonderful site with anything related to Kingdom Hearts.

BREAKING NEWS: KINGDOM HEARTS 3 ANNOUNCED AT E3 for PS4

Post by disneyboy20022 »

Kingdom Hearts 3, the 10th installment in the Kingdom Hearts series and the final game in its current storyline, will launch for PlayStation 4, Square Enix announced today during Sony's E3 press conference.

Tetsuya Nomura acknowledged Kingdom Hearts 3 was in development shortly after the release of 2010 PlayStation Portable title Kingdom Heats: Birth by Sleep.

The first Kingdom Hearts launched in 2002 for PlayStation 2. The games focus on a young boy named Sora, Mickey Mouse and their friends as they travel through worlds that mashup elements and characters from Final Fantasy games and classic Disney films.

The series' games, both numbered installments and spin-off games contributing to the series' branching storyline, have also been released on Nintendo DS and 3DS as well as PlayStation Portable. The latest title, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, launched last summer for the 3DS and set up the plot for the final game.

At some point I'll probably get the PS4 through a rental service like Aaron's. I know in the long run it's more expensive but I don't have the money to pay $500 upfront. I will definitely pick one up one way or another in 2014 or when Kingdom Hearts 3 has a more set in stone release date.

I´ve never owned a PS so I can´t follow the series; although a friend once let me borrow one and I got to play quite a bit of the first time.

However, as ALWAYS Square knows how to squeeze a cow and make a mess out of the original idea.

I mean, there you have it: Kingdom Hearts 3 is the 10th installment! :o :o :o The number 10 game in the series and the story didn´t continue up until now!

How can that make any sense?

Honestly, I'm a little mixed about this. On the positive side, I'm like, 'Yes! Finally! Thank you, Square Enix!'

On the negative side, I'm like, 'PS4?! Oh, come on, Disney and Square! That's not fair!'

Good, cause it costs $100 less ;)

8th installment. How can you know that "the story didn't continue up until now" if you have never played the games?

I'm going to try to pre-order it the first thing in July Through Gamestop because I don't have money right now to pre-order it. Hopefully they'll have some slots left, even if it it's just a bundle. Then every month I'll put $100 into the pre-order. I figure in 4 months I'll have it. Heck I might do a bundle since I'm saving up and all.
