Disney characters as DC and Marvel superheroes

Post by Mooky »

My exams are finally over and I finally did something I planned to do for months. I'm a big fan of both Disney and superheroes and this gave me a chance to make an amalgam of both :) .

I used Disney's original clip-art to draw the outlines of characters' bodies and then I drew the superhero costumes. I colored them with marker-pens. It would probably look better if it was colored in Paint or Photoshop. I hope you like them!

DC superheroes:

Hercules as Superman
Image

Meg as Lois Lane
Image

Aurora as Supergirl
Image

Tarzan as Batman
Image

Peter Pan as Robin
Image

Jasmine as Catwoman
Image

Esmeralda as Wonder Woman
Image

King Triton as Aquaman
Image

Tinker Bell as Green Lantern
Image

Robin Hood as Green Arrow
Image

Now we move on to X-Men, or D-Men as I like to call them :):

Eric as Cyclops
Image

Ariel as Jean Grey/Phoenix
Image

Kida as Storm
Image

Stitch as Wolverine
Image

The Beast as... um, well, Beast :)
Image

Belle as Rogue
Image

Aladdin as Gambit
Image

Mulan as Psylocke
Image

I was thinking of doing another one, but this time with Disney Villains, but the only one I came up with was Hades as Lex Luthor :( .

I love these! My favorite is Meg as Lois just because they share a spunky demeanor and it just look darn good. :P Great job!

You've made one mistake, though. Tarzan should be Spider-Man of course :D.

I actually toyed with that idea for awhile, but somehow it didn't fit. I think Batman fits Tarzan's personality more than Spider-Man: both are orphaned boys struggling to find their place in the world that fears them and both carry this immense sorrow within them. That's why I opted against "Tarzan as Spider-Man".

I did that for others, too, so I'll explain how I decided on which Disney character should be a DC/Marvel superhero.

- Superman & Lois Lane - I found both the characters and the plot of "Hercules" to be very similar to "Superman: The Movie": a child of god-like strength is found by a nice old couple who decide to raise him as their own child and he grows up to be a person of high moral standards and the protector of innocent. And of course, there's also a comical villain :).

- Supergirl - I needed someone blonde, tall and nice. Aurora fits the description, though I could have used Cinderella instead. Maybe I'll draw Cinderella as Black Canary :) .

- Robin - at first, I thought of Robin Hood as Robin but then I remembered I needed someone young and energetic so I used Peter instead

- Catwoman - Jasmine, like Catwoman, is the epitome of sex-appeal to me. Plus, she has a tiger and Catwoman has a soft spot for tigers. And of course, there's the infamous "pussycat" line

- Wonder Woman - someone tall and amazonian was needed to fit the role of Wonder Woman. Maybe I should have used Pocahontas instead of Esmeralda :?

- Aquaman - Sea King. No need for explanation :) (besides, both Triton and Aquaman have similar color schemes)

- Green Lantern - Tinker Bell has a green dress and she glows :D

- Green Arrow - a skilled archer and has similar color scheme to Disney's Robin Hood

- Cyclops & Jean Grey - I chose Ariel and Eric for Cyclops and Jean based on appearance only. And because they're a couple :D

- Storm - Kida's dark-skinned and has white hair. She also has that royal presence, like Storm.

- Wolverine - Stitch is rough on the outside but has a soft spot for those in need.

- Beast - who else could have I used

- Rogue - Rogue is often described as southern belle. She's also a brunette and often wears yellow :D

- Gambit - has that street-rat type of attitude :P

- Psylocke - Mulan is skillful warrior and she's Asian

You've given it way more thought than I would've done. Good job :).
I thought Kida would look great as Wonder Woman. She doesn't has the dark hair, but the white hair looks good as a contrast.

Psylocke is british.....

Cassandra Cain is better choice for Mulan as both are badass martial artist asians. Cassandra cain is new Batgirl.

Other than that, good work.

Oops! I kind of based Psylocke on "X3" version of the character and there she was played by an Asian actress. But she does have some Oriental facial features, or am I just imagining things? :?

I really, really like that idea, but I already used Mulan. :(

What a clever idea mooky_7_sa. They are so nice, you have done a great job maching the costumes to the characters.
mooky_7_sa Maybe I should have used Pocahontas instead of Esmeralda
No Esmeralda is the right one.
Stitch as Wolverine is great! I love them all.
mooky_7_saI already have some new ideas
Can't wait to see them!

Oh! One more thing...

Super Aurora wrote:Psylocke is british.....
In her original body, yes. But her mind later gets switched with an Asian assassin, Kwannon, and has since been Asian. :)

Wow those are great! I think Hercules can pass as Cyclops and Eric as Superman with the main factor being the hair color matching the original characters. But what you have still works. :D
