Disney/Pixar characters at the Oscars
Disney/Pixar characters at the Oscars
One of my favorite moments at the Oscars are when they sometimes bring out animated characters to present an Award (usually for best animated short). They don't do it always, though, which is a disappointment.
What I want to know is, who were some of the Disney characters that presented awards?
My memory is foggy, but I know for sure that these characters presented an Oscar:
-Belle and Beast (not 100% sure, but I do recall one of the Oscar montages to feature them presenting an Award)
-Buzz, Woody, Jessie, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head and Bullseye
-Flick and crew
-Mike and Sulley (They were in the audience when they presented the first Best Animated Feature Award)
-Mickey Mouse (Don't remember what award he presented...)
-Chicken Little and Abby Mallard
-Edna Mode (Presented best costume design with Pierce Brosnan)
Who else did I miss? Anyone have video clips of these presentations?
Also, its annoying that you don't have these snippets as part of a DVD extra, but I guess the clips are owned by the Academy so in order to teh studio to use them they must pay a royalty or something. Can someone clear this up for me?

Edna Mode was in the Oscars?.
Belle and Beast were threre for Best Animated Short,Beast asked Belle if she have seen some of the nominates and she said something like "No,but I read their books",after they announced the nominates they found Chip in Beast's pocket (Why he was there?) and he announced the winner, what a spotlight stealer:P.

Believe when I say that I looked everywhere for the clips and nothing. I think the Academy forced YouTube to remove all clips from the site, and created their own OFFICIAL page for clips.Nick Bryant wrote:I've never seen any of these before. Does anyone have any videos? If so could you upload them please, thanks.
Its a load of bull. The awards are outdated the minute the show ends. What's the deal with uploading old clips? And if all we have is the Official page I'm betting that what we will get is clips that THEY think is good.
I remember seeing the Edna Mode clip on YouTube, but now its nowhere to be seen.
Really? I saw the show and I don't recall any scenes with Lighting and Mater.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:Lightning McQueen and Mater were at the 2007 Academy Awards.
I DID see them in one of the montages at this year's show, though. Are you sure you saw that and confused it for a cameo?
Yes. Like I said earlier she presented the award for best costume design alongside Pierce Brosnan. As expected from her she out staged Pierce (which is funny because Pierce was real while Edna was CG).Ariel'sPrince wrote:Edna Mode was in the Oscars?
Pixar would later on recycle the animation for a "Cars" featurette on ABC.

No, I'm talking about cameos of Disney animated characters. There is another thread about performances of Disney songs at the Oscars.disneyboy20022 wrote:I'll keep digging. Maybe If i can find out through a Google search if there were any more.
Here's the one where Snow White presented an Oscar:
