It contains the forbidden word.
"A typical ideologue of all things social justice for the sake of sounding smart and politically proper."

LOL! You made my day! :D

As long as the movie is good, it's not that important. That said, it is and will always be silly when many of these films based on books are "needed" to change to title for the sake of Advertising guys and what they say. Oh well.

This is even worse marketing troll logic then Tangled. People didn't watch Mars Needs Moms because it was set on Mars. They didn't watch it because everyone is sick of Zemeckis' uncanny valley zombies.

^they're more alive than they were 6 years ago.

Anyway, I think it's the alien designs that stopped them.

Naw, the alien designs never really bugged me. There's actually a sense of stylization deviating from the Valley in them. The humans on the other hand are jarringly creepy as usual and the mom just looks like Seth Green.

Andrew Stanton said Thursday in front of Harry Potter in one of those interviews Sotiris posted (in regards to the trailer). From what he said, it sounds like they have put a lot of effort to make a great first impression. Can't wait to see it!!!

I really don't know what to think of this. There are so many things going on. Reminds me a bit of Prince of Persia, only with aliens.

No mention of Andrew Stanton? I guess Disney doesn't want people thinking about cartoons (even two of the most admired cartoons in recent times) when previewing this action movie.
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president

Well Stanton has no real recognition outside the animation community. your average person will be like "who?"
