Pixar's Brave (formerly The Bear and the Bow)
So far I have enjoyed the two Meridas we have met so far. The very first one I just liked her perkiness and bright personality, while the second Merida seemed to be closer to the actual film
Regarding the accent, though, it is to be expected. It seems Disney has issues casting people that can pull off convincing accents. Alice, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Naveen and many others seem to have the same problem as Merida in that the accent comes in and out and depending on the person it is either perfect or way off.
Merida is going to be a challenge since her accent is STRONG, and the voice actress just has a thick, natural accent that can be difficult to imitate. Still, I love seeing Merida, accent issues and all, because finally we can TALK to a Pixar character at the parks and get responded back. It just makes for awesome interaction, and so far Merida looks like a winner.

Wow! Is that her real hair? Does anyone else think she kind of looks like Belinda Carlisle?SWillie! wrote:Merida popped up in Disney World for the first time today!!
I got a special greeting from her, seeing as my girlfriend is quite good "friends" with her http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY_AwChY ... e=youtu.be
And here's another video of her greeting some guests! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ja3HBLkg ... ture=share
As for the movie itself, right now it kind of looks like a mash-up of Mulan, Brother Bear and Robin Hood. Hopefully it will be able to stand on its own.

I've always preferred costume characters to face characters for the same reason you seem to prefer face characters - I don't want to have a conversation with them. I especially didn't like this when I was younger, because I had no idea what to say. With the mute costume characters, you just have to hug them and hand them an autograph book. It's much less stressful.pap64 wrote:Still, I love seeing Merida, accent issues and all, because finally we can TALK to a Pixar character at the parks and get responded back. Well, it could be a Pizza Planet Cart.BwayJ wrote:According to a clue in this month's Disney Movie Rewards newsletter, the Pizza Planet truck will appear in Brave, and it says "look for him wearing a splash of red on top." I love that they are committed to that in-joke even when the movie is in medieval Scotland.

Humorous new trailer posted today (I think). Purists may not like it but I found it funny.
