That's right Disney's epic masterpeice, Cinderella II:Dreams Come True will be coming to Disney DVD, for a limited time, on December 18th. View UD's front page for more info. This is a fantastic film full of wonderful animation, great storylines, and catchy classic songs. Finally a true classic is being released from the vault! (I acatually really like Cinderella II)

If it wasn't my want of having a complete collection someday, I probably wouldn't buy it. However, I am curious to see what it contains, and hope it really isn't as bad as everyone says (Though it probably will be and I'll be wasting $20). I guess this is just a re-issue and all of the same bonus materials will appear on this disc as well.

I already have it, so this would need some really special features for me to want it, which I wouldn't expect.
For those who are trying to decide whether or not to get it:
Of course, if you are a completist of somekind (which I am), you need it.
If not, my assessment is that it's one of the animated direct to DVDs that is sort of like a children's book. In other words, it's just princess merchandise, and not a true sequel. If it had been released as part of some sort of princess collection DVD, people probably wouldn't have had such a problem with it. It's pure fluff and badly done most of the time (especially the songs!), but it's not unwatchable, and I'm not surprised it's getting a rerelease since many really little kids probably love it. So, think of it as something that's for really little kids and night super high quality (mismarketed as a sequel), and decide if something like that repulses you or not, ha.

Teh, at least I can stop having people borrow my copies just so they can know what the heck I'm talking about. (I have it on VHS and DVD.) You know, Prudence's name wasn't even mentioned in the third movie, unless you count the credits.
"I'm Random Woman!" She seriously was out of place in A Twist in Time. While it was the better of the sequels, I love Prudence more in Dreams Come True.
Aaaand-- the pairings. Aww. <3
Hm, have you ever noticed something? Both Prue and Anastasia have red hair, to an extent, and both somewhat "redeem" themselves and end up being close friends with Cinderella. Prue's hair is much more of an auburn, but there is a red tint to it. Likewise, she doesn't redeem herself as... drastically as Anastasia did, for lack of a better word in place of "drastically." Still, she has to loosen up and lose some of her snobbish ways.
Something tells me, however, that Prudence and Anastasia wouldn't get along. Prue would see Ana as too odd, hyperactive, and unorthodox. Ana would see Prue as a different sort of an odd, an intellectual snob, and a stick in the mud. Both would be right, at least in part! (Cue Cinderella having to roll her eyes and wonder about human company.)

I want a director's commentary.PeterPanfan wrote:"Special Edition"????! I'm hoping for a documentary saying how drunk they were while making this...
DIRECTOR: God, I'm sorry. God, I'm so so sorry. What the heck were we thinking? Jeez, I just...you should just stop watching the movie. I'm so so sorry.

I guess I could say I was "lucky" enough to find this 2 years ago, so I alreaddy have it on DVD. Maybe it'll have a new game that'll entice me into rebuying it.
Actually I think a short documentary on the ideas behind the Cinderella show they were supposed to make out of this would be interesting.
I wont be able to resist buying it though. I just hope I'm not too pissed that I couldn't resist it.

CINDERELLA II
I was surprised to read about a re-release of that dvd, too. If I was the director, I'd ask to have my name blotted out on the credits this time around.
Well, I guess I will have to think about this one. Do I want to be a completist or a complete idiot to shell out the money????????
I will draw the line if they re-release Pocahontas II!

I've never seen Cinderella II, but I'm always hearing how terrible it is. I think I will pick this one up for collector purposes because I want all the DAC's with their sequels. I'll watch it and give a final opinion at the end, but I'm not going to expect anything great. I do like the original Cinderella a lot and Cinderella III was entertaining which I did somewhat strangely enjoyed, so I'm pretty much expecting that number II won't do either justice.
