What makes you say that? :? Could you give us an example?
Hahah... I don't know... not really. I guess "accurate" might not be the word I was looking for. It's more just a feeling his posts give off... they just kind of consistently seem waaaayy late in the game.

I just don't think this is reason to believe it has been shelved again. He could very possibly be talking about the version that was shelved before. I mean, for all we know, it's 100% completely different now that it has been put back into production/development/whateveritis.

LOVE his artwork though.

Q: This was for King of the Elves, right?

Jin Kim: Yes, the old version of King of the Elves!

I'm very glad this film hasn't been shelved again. I really like those concept drawings of Shadrach Jones so hopefully they'll retain that look in the finished film.

How can John Lasseter be both the producer and the executive-producer? I don't even think Spielberg and Lucas have accomplished such a feat.

This is only film currently in the Disney production pipeline that bares any remote interest with me, so I really hope it doesn't canceled.

Jackoleen If your talking about the comments on the TAG Blog, take it with a grain of salt. For some reason people like making up rubbish on that blog. Only read what has been posted and commented by the author :)

I would love a Rumpelstiltskin or Hansel and Gretel made by Disney!

But I can't see them happening just yet (seeing as Rumple in Shrek came out and H & G: Witch Hunters is in Production at another studio :( )

Steve Hulett: I visited the Disney hat building this afternoon. Some new directors on stalled projects, some new projects, and Frozen still follows Ralph.

Q: Is King of the Elves still following Frozen?

Steve Hulett: I'm told that there is no movie yet designated to follow Frozen.

That's right, "King of the Elves" was racing with "Frozen" to be the 2013 release and it still has too many story structure problems to make it across the finish line. So many in fact, that Chris Williams is now off the project and going back to work on other projects (not as a director, but story boarder). It seems the script for Snow Queen aka: "Frozen" is in much better shape and it got the release date for next year, while KOTE got put on the shelve. Again.

Easy come, easy go but one has to remember how many years Beauty and the Beast & The Little Meremaid were in development hell before Disney finally somehow made a movie that worked.Once they find a story structure that works for King Of The Elves then I know it will be a timeless classic. In my mind there is just a gold mine of works from Disney that have been shelved and let me tell any day or decade those ideas might one day be turned finally into a movie.I like the fact that the Snow Queen or Frozen is finally getting released because it must have been in developement hell for decades.

I hope it does get made eventually as I like the original short story so much and I think it has the potential to make a very good Disney film. I can see why they're having story problems as it's not a typical Disney-like story but I hope they stick with it and resolve those issues in the near future.

The last I heard anything official of the film was in June last year when Chris Williams was confirmed to direct and Michael Markowitz was brought in to rewrite the script. Those rewrites obviously haven't worked out as of yet and I can sort of see why; I would imagine they have to retool the story a little bit to stretch it into an animated feature and I'd be curious to see what they would do with the battle at the end of the story between the elves and the trolls. Given Markowtiz's resume is made up predominantly of comedies I would guess he was hired to add some humour to the story. If that hasn't worked out let's hope that they don't give up on the film and find a way to make it work soon.

@DisneyAnimation88-So, it is NOT shelved?

It looks like it's back on the shelf at the moment but it's a film that's been in and out of development over the past couple of years so it could conceivably go back into development again soon if they figure out a solution to the problems that they're having with the story. Recent films like Bolt and Tangled went through problems and significant changes during production and made it through so there's still hope for this film.
