Sicoe6256 wrote:My perfect Disney release would be a Mary Poppins 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack. It would have to be identical to the excellent Blu-ray release that The Sound of Music had in 2010, complete with a new digital restoration, all the DVD features (including the one about the Broadway musical) and a nice packaging (that also means disc art for both the Blu-ray and the DVD). And as a treat to fans, a Special Ultimate Collector's Edition would be nice, with a reproduction of the original theatrical poster, the complete soundtrack, and some rare collectibles.

YES! YES! YES! Hopefully, Disney comes through and releases such a UCE set; I have high hopes, after all I'm sure part of Disney's decision making in optioning "Saving Mr. Banks" was to release it in time with MP's 50th Anniversary, and if they can do something like that, hopefully they'll give MP a really high profile next year. And arguably, MP is Disney's Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music, so hopefully Disney will follow Warner Bros. & Fox's examples in creating an UCE for Poppins.

Hopefully.

Mickeyfan, the aspect ratio for the 1976 Freaky Friday should actually be 1.75:1, not 1.85:1.

I'd prefer buying a Freaky Friday movie collection if it also included Disney's 1995 television movie with Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffmann. It's my favorite of the three.
