Leanza Cornett, the 1993 Miss America and the actress who holds the distinction of being the first person to ever play a live-action version of Disney character Ariel, has passed away at the age of 49 due to injuries suffered in a fall.
Cornett's role as Ariel was in the stage show "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" at Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney's Hollywood Studios) at Walt Disney World in 1991.
