Actually the first movie I ever saw in theaters was a Disney movie... and it was Aladdin! (my favorite Disney movie!)
Wow the first movie I ever saw in theaters was a Disney movie and the first DVD I got was a Disney movie. I know there's more "firsts" that involve Disney....

But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

my first was Snow White in 1993. it was also my first cinema experience and im glad it was a Disney one! I ended up leaving once the queen was tranformed and finally un-veiled her hideous face with warts and everythinG! ever since then my family had to hide any references to snow white in my house. all the snow white story books were hidden, then i found one and freaked!

Although I have some vague memory of seeing Hunchback, the first definite Disney movie I remember seeing in theaters was Hercules.

Re: What was the first Disney movie you saw in theaters?
My parents told me my first movie was 101 Dalmatians at the drive-in but I was too young to remember. The first Disney movie I actually recall seeing is the 1967 rerelease of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The first first-run Disney film I ever saw was The Jungle Book that same year. The last Disney movie I saw in a theater was Fantasia 2000. These days my boyfriend and I prefer to watch movies at home.

Dude . . . old-school thread!
Oddly enough, I've never been able to find any concrete information on my first theatrical Disney experience. My mom took me to see a compilation of Mickey Mouse cartoons for his 50th birthday in the winter of 1978. I was 2 years old and don't remember a single thing about it! But the story is that some lady in a really cheesy Mickey costume greeted the patrons as they came through the lobby, and I was apparently mesmerized with him/her. When it was time for the cartoons to start, I began crying because I didn't want to watch him on the screen, I wanted to go back to the lobby and spend more time with the "real" thing!
I do know I saw The Jungle Book in 1980 and can remember that pretty well, as it was screened in the auditorium of our town's newly-built high school (which was basically a nice theater, complete with a projection room, a large screen, and a stage). Back then they used to show Disney theatrical films every so often, which was incredibly awesome given that home video was not yet common so there was no other way to see them outside of the official theatrical releases.

Re: What was the first Disney movie you saw in theaters?
Cool thread!
I'm honestly not sure... I was about 3 or 4... it was either:
a) Oliver and Co. in its original release
b) My family and I were vacationing in Uruguay and I remember distinctly going to a double feature. It was Snow White and Cinderella... but I seriously doubt it was an official re-release...

The first film I remember seeing is TLK, although I might've seen Aladdin (and my mom says she took my sister and me to TLM, though I was a baby, so, yeah, no memory of it). But, yeah, I definitely remember seeing TLK, Hunchback, Hercules, Mulan, and Tarzan (then TP&TF and Tangled).
I might've seen a re-release of 101 Dalmatians, too.

Aladdin was the first movie I ever saw period, but that was on VHS. The first movie I went to see in theaters was The Lion King. I was only about 2 then, but I know we went at least 2 or 3 times.

Re: What was the first Disney movie you saw in theaters?
My first Disney film in a theater was Song of the South in 1946. Since it was being shown in my Mom and Dad's theater, I got to see it two or three times a day. My Mom always said it was the best baby sitter anyone could ever have back then. By the way, I was six years old. That makes me 73 today.
I can proudly say that I have seen every Disney movie release and re-release in the theater and have never missed one - until "The Lone Ranger" which I would go to see if someone wanted to pay my admission for me.

I didn't know The Black Cauldron had a theatrical rerelease in the 90s.
Anyways, the first Disney film I (vaguely) remember seeing in theaters was Beauty and the Beast.
