'Quest for the Queen' or 'Pirate Fairy' (Or are both the same?)
They are one and the same. The Pirate Fairy is just the new title of Quest for the Queen.

I found this back in October 2012 and it's an animatic from Sharon Morrill's version of Tinker Bell around 2006 titled Tinker Bell and the Ring of Belief. It's storyboarded by Jane Wu. I find that version much more interesting than what we eventually got.
Really? I don't know enough about the project to know if it would be better than the original Tink film; apparently Lasseter said it was 'unwatchable'?! One things for sure, I can't imagine anyone else as Tink now, am very glad it's Mae over Brittany Murphy.
Tinker Bell and her friends are getting a makeover!
After the redesign of the Disney Princess line, Disney has apparently decided to rework the Disney Fairies brand as well. Of course, the makeover is not as radical as that of the Disney princesses; they've kept their original hairstyles but they've given them new outfits and accessories. They look more princess-y now.

What Disney character isn't getting a makeover these days? Wait, correction: Disney female character.
The wire thing Silvermist has across her brow is lame. It looks like this garland but with cute stuff instead of numbers.
Except for that minor annoyance, the fairies' makeovers look great! Their new dresses are lovely especially Silvermist's.
Isn't this just their usual seasonal makeover? Their outfits Are always changing. Yes, these are more obvious changes, but they do vary their wardrobe more than the Princesses ever did. This surely won't be permanent ..... Tinks outfit is too iconic to change so much! Fawn looks awful; how is that even practical for being an animal fairy ?!

This. And at least it's not like what they did with Merida,
atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Most likely. I wish they would give the Tink movies the same standing as Planes.... Why don't they?
Because it can't be marketed to boys.
But really, and I honestly don't mean to offend anyone, I don't think any of the Tink movies so far have been strong enough for a theatrical release. Tink's movies cater to a younger audience than most Disney films and have less of a "parent pulse" running through them. Themes, dialogue, and plot aren't substantial enough to market to "the child in every adult."
Plus Planes has a guaranteed mega profit with the toys they'll push at release from both collectors and kids.
Old Fish Tale wrote:Well, I guess I'm the exception that proves the rule. I'm a 24 year old man and I think they are nicely written and animated.
I'm the same and have the films as well. Currently it's more for the completest aspect of my personality, but the films have been getting stronger. I definitely didn't mean to imply that was a rule, just what I think the general public would feel. I guess the depth just isn't there. But who knows... they keep extending this franchise. Hopefully one day there will be a theatrical release of "When Tink Met Peter."
atlanticaunderthesea wrote:You don't think these movies have depth?
It's just that the plot lines are basic. It's not that they are bad, just simple to cater to a younger audience. So yes, I would say the films lack depth in a pretty serious way.
You could break any Disney down by its plot and say it has no depth, as it is basic. What makes the film are the characters, and what you feel for them. Personally, I feel that I've discovered so much about Tink and Pixie Hollow, and the world they live in. I care for them as much as I do a 'Classic' character.
Though in turn, you could also argue my feelings are due to the fact I like the world they have created.
Rounding out Disney's top franchises, Disney Fairies continues its success at retail. In fall 2013 a new "Bake Off" animated short will debut followed by the release of an all-new fairies film in spring 2014. Throughout 2014 the franchise will be supported with retail programs, interstitials on Disney Channel as well as vibrant new packaging. DCP will also focus on breaking out Tinker Bell for older girls with a licensing program that will leverage all-new artwork, fun editorial and create cohesive statements across categories and "halo" programs that highlight Tinker Bell's sassy, feisty personality.
Interesting ! Great news about the short, glad they are keeping those up. Would be nice to see it in front of Frozen in the cinema, but I know that will never happen !
Repackaging for the older girls .... I wonder what that means ?
