What's the biggest cheap Disney rip-off?
I recently found this anime series that I found to be my all time favorite "The Lion King" ripoff and NO, IT'S NOT KIMBA!
Here is the Arabic Opening to the series.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xROpyrAkco
Another opening by Christina D'Avena. She's well known for singing the intro in the Italian versions of many cartoons.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZS6idlf-DA&NR=1
I have no idea who originally animated this series though and when because it is hard to believe that the Japanese wouldve made this AFTER 1994.
Here's a short sample of the very first episode of the said series in English nonetheless!

In fact, the most interesting aspect of this show is that it is actually a Ripoff Crossover featuring characters from both "The Lion King" and "The Jungle Book" in the same environment and bearing similar character designs as their Disney counterparts. There may possibly be a Bambi like character in it as well judging from the clips I've seen.

I think that these might be earlier games by the same company that Mayhem mentioned (the one where they made Cinderella look like a prostitute), but I remember seeing in various supermarkets and service stations in the UK some strange PS1 games that seemed to be short (as in half-hour) animated movies plus a couple of games/activities thrown along with the main feature. The animated movies were complete rip-offs on Disney films (for example, The Aristocats becomes something like Jazzy Cats), but it seems as though the idea of having a movie and nothing but fluffy games is something that Disney stole from this company! Shock horror!
I am surprised hardly anybody mentioned any of the countless animated DTVs that came in the 90s (Goodtimes etc) which were either came close to garnering a law suit from Disney, even if they were simply adaptations of a classic story that Disney incidentally had covered. Whilst I can understand people doing another animated version of Cinderella or Alice in Wonderland, I doubt that had Disney not made their version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame that the number of animated adaptations of that particular story would be so high. I never knew about the insect version of Mulan though. rofl
I can't also help but think that Thumbelina from Don Bluth tried too hard to be a film in the "Disney style". Perhaps if Disney themselves had made a decent Thumbelina movie or had Don Bluth actually tried to make a Thumbelina movie that didn't try to fit such-and-such-a-cliché, then we could all sleep well. I also would like to note some crappy "princess" stationary that I found in a post-office once that was so lovingly inspired by the titular character of Sleeping Beauty. Also, you loved Disney's fairy-tales, so what do you guys think of Susaeta's fairy-tales?

Oh My God. Could they get any more un creative?? At least the BATB one is somewhat different, except Belle and Beast just look like they got beat with the ugly stick...and I just love their dancing movies...
And oh Lord...That Little Mermaid...okay, thats just King Triton in a different outfit, Ariel with an ugly top, and that...witch...appears to be a sting ray...a very ugly sting ray...egh, I think I'd actually rather go on a date with Ursula then her...the only new thing is the sea otter.
Yeah, I think those are the worst Disney rip-offs I've ever scene...They get the Jeremy88 -_- award of the year. Good job on finding the worst of the worst Mooky!

Yes! I remember a couple years ago, it was either my mother-in-law or my brother-in-law who bought (by accident, I think) some fake Disney movies for my niece & nephew. I never saw them, but I sure heard about them and I let them know that I was upset & that they shouldn't have bought them & that they should return them ASAP! I don't know whatever happened, but I let them know how I felt.Merryweather__ wrote: Do people actually buy them?

HAHAHA It sounds like most of their money is coming from accidental sales, seems like they found a good strategy lolblackcauldron85 wrote: Yes! I remember a couple years ago, it was either my mother-in-law or my brother-in-law who bought (by accident, I think)

I couldn't believe it when I saw it too. It looks EXACTLY like Ariel. Even the pose is from official Disney artwork, just the colors are different.
I was thinking one day, why these companies haven't ripped off the sequels too and then I realized, they probably saw Disney cheapquels and couldn't top some of the horrible animation and story lines from those.

Yeah,Disney should sue them,it's an actual clipart of Ariel just with a different hair color.
Well,I guess that people who thinks that Over The Hedge is a Disney movie are the people who buy this stuff, they see a lame and cheap rip-off and think it's Disney or they don't care

Aida? I don't know if that princess is similar to her but keep in mind that the company who made it also ripped-off Ratatouille,Bee Movie,Kung Fu Panda and WALL-E,and I think that the WALL-E,Kung Fu Panda and Bee Movie rip-offs came out before they were released in theater so they might already know about Princess And The Frog.bluemoon86 wrote:Actually it look like the black princess is more of a rip off of AidaAriel'sprince wrote:Princess rip-off:

Yeah,I really agree with you,one of the sharks reminds me of Chum from Finding Nemo, and the name of the film-Shark Bait, the nickname that the Tank Gang gave Nemo.blackcauldron85 wrote:OMG, that made me livid. They copied Peach, they copied Nigel...UGH!!!!Ariel'sprince wrote: Here's the trailer:

Also the fishes (Pi and Crodilia?) reminds me of Oscar and Angie from Shark Tale but that's ripping-off DreamWorks.
Oh,and too bad those divers didn't kidnapped Cordilia insted of taking pictures of her like she's a super model.
