Favorite Pixar Song?

Post by Disneykid »

Obviously Toy Story has the advantage, here, but what's your favorite of the songs that have appeared in Pixar films? Mine's "If I Didn't Have You" from Monsters, Inc.; I love the jazzy feel to it. :D

Oh my gosh this is tough. It's considerably hard to rank the songs from the original Toy Story. In the end, though, I'd say "You've Got a Friend in Me".

1. You've Got a Friend In Me
2. It's the Time of Your Life
3. Strange Things
4. I Will Go Sailing No More
5. When Somebody Loved Me
6. Woody's Roundup
7. Beyond the Sea
8. If I Didn't Have You

I wanted the 2 Toy Stories to be in my upcoming "Which Song is the Best? Other Animation" game as soon as the Animated Classics game ends but anyway let's vote for now. My choice is You've Got A Friend in Me, although Beyond the Sea makes a close second.

If this had waited a week, the credits song for The Incredibles could have been included (if there is one). Anyway, my ranking:

1. When Somebody Loved Me
2. You've Got a Friend In Me
3. Beyond the Sea
4. It's the Time of Your Life
5. Strange Things
6. Woody's Roundup
7. If I Didn't Have You
8. I Will Go Sailing No More

I checked the track listing for the soundtrack and it seems this will be the first Pixar film without any songs, not even for the end credits.

Beyond the Sea, because Randy Newman didn't sing it. seriously they should have dropped him after TS2.

Why do you say that? Randy Newman didn't sing at all in Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., or Finding Nemo. He just wrote the score for the first four movies.

Call me a sentimental fool (or a girl... :P) but I voted for "When She Loved Me" - 'cause it makes me cry. That, and it makes me feel incredibly bad for my childhood toys! *sob*
Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

The only Pixar song I've liked is "When She Loved Me," mostly for McLachlan's gorgeous vocal. "If I Didn't Have You" from Monsters, Inc. is okay, too. We'll see about Coco. I do like the Lopezes.

Listening to most often lately:
Ariana Grande ~ "we can't be friends (wait for your love)"
Ariana Grande ~ "imperfect for you"
Kacey Musgraves ~ "The Architect"

They only wrote "Remember Me". The rest of the songs are by Adrian Molina (lyrics) & Germaine Franco (music).

I like Livin' On a Prayer.

The songs from Brave and Coco are also nice, too. But Pixar is just much stronger on instrumentals, I feel. I get goosebumps listening to The Egg or Define Dancing.
