Re: Disney to build 'Avatar' Attraction in Theme Parks
'Tis with a heavy heart that I post this. "Disney World breaks ground on 'Avatar' land at Animal Kingdom" http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2014-01-10/the-daily-disney/os-disney-avatar-groundbreaking-20140110_1_avatar-la...

Re: Will Tomorrowland (DL) be renamed Star Wars Land?
^I didn't know that! Do you know if the Marvel characters were only in Hollywood Studios or if they were in other parks? And what lands they were in? I assumed Star Wars Land would be in Hollywood Studios too. It's the best fit, and there's plenty of wasted space. (It's my least favourite park, no o...

Re: Dreamworks to do a spin on Ramayana with monkeys
It just seems like a recipe for disaster to make a DreamWorks movie inspired by a sacred text. Prince of Egypt says hi. I can't believe I forgot about The Prince of Egypt. But still, the tone for this seems completely different from Prince of Egypt, which was veeery careful and even reveren...

Re: Disney designs you don't care for
I agree with everything that's been said about Eilonwy. Book Eilonwy's such a vibrant character. She's described as having red-gold hair, blue eyes, a short white dress with a gold belt, a silver crescent necklace, and sandals. Her design was already there (and a much more interesting one), but inst...

Okay, I conferred with my sister and I think I have the answer!
Poor Unfortunate Souls? "Yes, I've had the odd complaint" right?

Re: A genre you wish Disney would tackle
I second the western and period piece suggestions. I'd love to see Disney take another crack at an animated western. Home on the Range did not cut it. I'd also like something more along the lines of a folk tale. Like something based on a Native American legend.

Re: Saving Mr. Banks
Colin Farrell did wonderfully, but so did everyone really. Ruth Wilson was absolutely heartbreaking. She made me tear up more than anyone else. Paul Giamatti's performance was a little gem too. I think every performance was top-notch. It makes me really sad no actors got nominated (but especially EM...

Re: Oscar for Best Animated Feature 2013
Yeah, is there a technical reason Blue Umbrella didn't get nominated? I honestly don't understand who would nominate "Get a Horse" over "The Blue Umbrella." It was entered, right? I would. I did not enjoy The Blue Umbrella at all. *shrugs* To each his own. I understand that Blue...

Re: Oscar for Best Animated Feature 2013
Whoa! Slow down there! We haven't even seen trailers for any of those movies (except HTTYD2). Some of the titles you mentioned are so far out they could completely change direction (in every sense) by the time they're completed. I have a good feeling about all of the titles WDAS is currently working...

Re: Oscar for Best Animated Feature 2013
No love for Pixar this year. I would've thought that The Blue Umbrella would've gotten a Best Animated Short nomination. Yeah, is there a technical reason Blue Umbrella didn't get nominated? I honestly don't understand who would nominate "Get a Horse" over "The Blue Umbrella." I...

^I second this. The Dutch version is my favourite foreign version. But then, being raised in a half-Dutch family, Dutch sounds very homey to me, even if I can't understand much. That aside, Willemijn Verkaik is fab. She's got serious pipes on her.
I also love the fact that two Elphabas played Elsa.

^Surprisingly, I agree with most of what you just said. :) Linden, I'm not in "fear", or I haven't never meet up any feminists. Years ago I used to agree with their ideas, before they started treating me as inferior just because of my nationality, calling me a "poor little oppressed P...

Re: Tangled vs. Frozen
Yeah, I have a feeling in a couple years the poll will be a lot closer. But I have a feeling that, as a stronger musical, Frozen will have a slight edge. Yeah, it's a part of my life I like to keep on the down low :o. (you weren't ATI, were you?). I had to google that. Nope, I wasn't. I used Christi...

Re: Disney's progression of gender roles
^I enjoyed that article a lot. It was well thought out. I especially liked how the author pointed out that naysayers take the villain's views as the point of the movie. Okay, Super Aurora , on to you. There's so much I could say about this topic and so many different ways I could go, but I'm tr...

Oh. My. Gosh! I think I almost peed reading the summary. I don't know why cheesy things entertain me so much.
I'm really surprised they had the money to make this.
Atlantica, there is a Barbie Swan Lake. It was one of the first Barbie CG movies put out.
