Re: The Prom: The Musical: The Movie
I watched this on Sunday and thoroughly disliked it. The songs weren't memorable, the direction was way too loud, most of the characters were obnoxious and don't develop at all, and the script was sloppy (though apparently that's true for the play too). The whole premise is hard to believe in, even ...

Re: Iwájú (Disney+ Series)
This is the really only interesting announcement for me, and I don't even have Disney+. It's nice to see an original project that isn't based off a preexisting property.

Re: The Prom: The Musical: The Movie
I'm not familiar with the musical but I can't say it's really grabbing me all that much. The music isn't exactly what I think of when I hear "musical," though that's what seems to be popular these days.

Re: Pixar's Luca
Is it me or is that weird? The way the premise is set up, it doesn't makes sense. Luca is supposed to be an average kid who makes a new friend that has a secret. How can this secret affect Luca and their friendship if he's also a sea monster? Unless, he's unaware he himself is a monster too and dis...

Re: Question on Kaitlyn Robrock
I went to check Robrock's filmography on IMDB, but her date of birth was missing. I went to add it in, but for some reason, it's always demanding a "reason" for inclusion. I deliberately avoided Wikipedia because it's not very reliable and went elsewhere. Actually, Wikipedia has been a fa...

Re: Mulan (Live-Action)
I’m slightly confused why all the backlash against the $30 price tag is such an issue. This is the movies theatrical run basically, and if 500,000 people pay for the $30 “admission” over the three months, the film only makes 15 million. This isn’t a rental, so you can watch it more than once unlike...

I'm not familiar with this either, but I enjoy almost all of Joe Wright's movies so count me in for this one too.

Re: Mulan (Live-Action)
I know I'm late to the party here, but $30 does seem very steep to purchase a single movie on a streaming service. That might be a good price for, say, a family of four as that's probably equivalent to what a family of four would pay at the theater. But I'm a family of one and go to the theater on B...

Re: Miscellaneous Film/TV Discussion
Oh I hate Monty Python and the Holy Grail . I’ve been forced to sit through it a few times, and man, do I hate it. But I feel awful because the people who love it, love it! I don’t know... I just feel like the cast on screen is having a much better time than I am watching them. I turned it off afte...

So people having opinions and favorite movies different from yours means you think it's uninteresting or insubstantial /! >:( I didn't say that at all. People are obviously welcome to share their opinions. My problem, as Jules guessed correctly, is that many conversations circle back to the exact s...

I'm an old-school member and still lurk from time to time but very rarely post. I haven't "left" as I still like to keep up on Disney-related news, but it's difficult to post on here when 1) most of my other favorite forum members indeed have left and 2) most of the conversations have beco...

Re: What are you reading/have you just read? Vol. 2
I finished reading Order of the Phoenix last night and just finished watching the film. OotP is my favorite novel of the series and I've never been a fan of the film. After cutting out 2/3 of the novel and then piecing together bits and bobs of storyline, I feel like we got a very rushed and disjoin...

Re: Sunset Boulevard: The Musical: The Movie
Cats had incredible longevity on both sides of the Atlantic. Sunset Boulevard did not. In terms of money-making potential, history was on Cats’ side. That’s not the case with Sunset. And after Cats bombed, I just don’t understand why any movie exec should be digging through ALW’s repertoire— althou...

Re: Sunset Boulevard: The Musical: The Movie
I’d like to see her finally film it, but I’ll believe it when it happens. I just don’t know who the audience for this is beyond “people who want to see Glenn Close win an Oscar” and I’m doubtful that’s encouragement enough to greenlight a new ALW adaptation. If a big studio won’t fund a proper movi...

Re: Cats (2019)
TheSequelOfDisney , I can't believe any fan of Cats think it's stupid. It's actually about how all these cats' relationships with each other, for instance the one cat was Macavity's lover, but she hated him. There is a fan theory Grizabella abandoned her kittens. And the whole play is really about ...

Re: The Witcher (Netflix TV Series)
I watched the first episode earlier this week and thought it was merely okay, though most pilots usually are. I've not read the books (and fantasy isn't really a genre I read or watch). I'll still give the next few episodes a chance, but I'm not really expecting too much.
