Re: Disneyland to Host a 60 Hour Party for the 60th Annivers
OMG! A Mice Age article says that Disneyland is planning to host a 60 hour party for the 60th Diamond Anniversary Celebration! :o :o :o http://micechat.com/68890-disneyland-60-hour-diamond-anniversary-celebration/ Can you imagine trying to stay awake at Disneyland for 60 hours straight? Re: Personal Park Traditions
At the 4 parks in WDW, we always want to have our picture taken with the icon. In Magic Kingdom, It's to start the day watching the Welcome show and then have our picture taken with Cinderella's Castle In Epcot, it's having our picture taken with Spaceship earth and then go on Soarin' In Disney's Ho...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
I believe the Columbia is wheelchair accessible. Disneyland's site says it is. The info seems a little contradictory, though, so I'm not sure about it. "Wheelchair Access: Proceed to the access gate to the right of the turnstile or through the attraction exit. Guests must navigate a steep seri...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
Was it you who mentioned the Columbia Ship. Not sure but there's a problem with that ship as it's not accessible and the same can be said with Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage. They do have an area with Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage that lets you experience it without being on the submarine. I do f...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
DL has attractions that WDW doesn't have and WDW has attractions that DL doesn't have. I really like Cinderella's castle better as it's easier to photograph and it's not as wide as Sleeping Beauty's Castle but both are unique. Mickey's Toontown Fair was never intended to be permanent in WDW. Seven D...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
One thing I forgot. In DL, if it's too windy, the fireworks get cancelled. We were there for Christmas in 2008 and the fireworks had started and suddenly stopped because there was too much wind. It hasn't happened yet in WDW because the buildings aren't as close to WDW as they are in DL. Nothing ag...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
The hotel we stayed at in DL didn't have free shuttle to DL. We had to pay or walk to DL. If the hotel is within walking distance of DL, then it's redundant for the hotel to pay to operate a shuttle. Not sure why that's an inconvienience. If you're talking about the DL hotel, it has a nearby monora...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
How are DL's hotels more expensive? Doesn't that depend on the hotels themselves, either DL or WDW? Correct. DLR's 3 hotels are more in line with the WDW deluxes in terms of prices and amenities. There are no "value" or "moderate" hotels operated by Disney there. However, there ...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
I get you like DL but you got to respect people that like WDW. Both Parks have attractions that the other park doesn't have. Where did I say I didn't respect people who like WDW? I was talking about the people who behave poorly in WDW and how, based on my experiences, they make up a larger proporti...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
You have to remember most of the people that go to WDW are from out of country or out of state. In Disneyland, about 80% of the people are from California. I've never had the experience you've had. In Disneyland, you can't take pictures with a flash and you're not allowed to tape shows even if you ...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
Disneyland offers quality over quantity. While WDW offers more stuff to do, much of that stuff is never updated or maintained properly. That and the guest behaviour is worse across the board from my experience (MK being the worst of all the Disney parks I've been to in this regard). It's not just a...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
Oh, I just love this topic. My favorite subject and I have a huge opinion. Disneyland is much, much, MUCH better! For the following reasons: 1. You can stay offsite and be within walking distance of Downtown Disney and the parks. No crazy parking. You can get there as early in the morning as you wa...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World
For me it's Walt Disney World. We've been to both and we just like Walt Disney World better because they're more room to walk and to me there's a lot more to do since there are 4 parks instead of 2. The hotels are cheaper in Florida and it's easier to find something to eat in Walt Disney World.

Re: Disney to build 'Avatar' Attraction in Theme Parks
The Swiss Family Robinson Tree House is still the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House at Walt Disney World. It was changed in Disneyland,. Yep. :) I'm sure there have been re-purposed attractions in WDW too. I'm just not as familiar with its history as I am with Disneyland's. Been to WDW more often th...

Re: Save Xmas for DL From turning into a private xmas party!
In WDW, the party is called Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Those going getting unlimited hot chocolate and cookies There's less lineups for the rides that are open. There's also entertainment. It's actually a lot of fun as we've been there.

I have 3 left to upgrade from VHS: Lion King, Fun and Fancy Free and Melody Time. I have two package features left to hunt down: Ichabod/Mr. Toad and Make Mine Music. Aside from that I belive I only need Bolt. So that's pretty good. 3 left to buy in order to own them all, regardless of format. 6 if...
