Re: Anyone else getting tired of the Disney Princesses?

http://www.nerdist.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/dp.jpg ^ this sums up how I feel about them in pop culture. I lothe that. As for the princesses themselves, no, I like them; in there movies. But I am so very, very tried of vanilla stories about royalty. Which just so happen to be any film with a f...

Pocahontas wasn't a princess either. She was more like a First Daughter.

And I pick Mulan, easily Mulan. She's just my favorite, period.

Re: Frozen: Part V

I should know this but have they ever done that for a movie? Change the 3D castle? POTC 4 and Oz. Not sure if any other movie got the treatment. The POTC 4 one was amazing, they even made moat darker and it had mermaids in it! Oooh, okay. I've seen both but I didn't really pay attention. I don't th...

The TRAGIC missed used the BEAUTIFUL "Vuelie." Using it for the logos  it's such a beautiful cultural piece.. it needed to be showcased. Why not take us on a sky tour the summer landscape of Norway? Let us get to know the environment in summer, so we really understand the stakes of ...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I think Let It Go is a terrible song  it's bland has clunky lyrics and cheesy as hell. No matter, I've let go of the idea Disney movies come with amazing music. They're strength now is the story and character writing. Let it go does have some cheesy and clunky lyrics.. but honestly, it's proba...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I'm not sure one will be able to love this movie unless one is also a little more than partial to Broadway music. It's not super accessible/borderline pop songs like much of the music from the renaissance era.

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?

Disney never had a Ramayana adaptation in development and Dreamworks has been working on it for 3 years. WDAS did have a Ramayana adaptation in development in the early '00s. Surprisingly, we know very little about that cancelled project. All we know is that Ray Shenusay worked as a visual developm...

Re: Hand-Drawn Animation Dead at Disney?

Well, that's true. I'm glad they have some hand drawn animation here and there. But it would be nicer Disney makes another hand drawn animation movie with the right story and the right time. I suggest they should do a movie about Ramayana. That would be a great comeback for hand drawn, except I hea...

Also stop acting like women don't get their fair share of political advantages. 40 yr old man touch young girl- gets 30+ years in jail + nasty social stigma 40 yr women or even younger does same to young boy(bonus points if the suspect is super hot)- gets slap on the wrist/ community service with m...

Re: Narratives you just wish Disney used/stopped using

Here's a quick list of Disney and Pixar films where the romance isn't really needed and doesn't affect the plot if you cut it out: -Bambi -Peter Pan (aside from maybe Tinkerbell's crush on Peter which saves his life the rest is really unneeded) -101 Dalmatians (i'm not sure to count this one since ...

Re: Gender & Race in Disney's Frozen

No one is going after artist freedom/free speech  It's the artist right to make whatever they wish, and it's our right to react however we like. And "artistic version" hardly has a place in this debate, let's be real. Disney movies have not been purely artist for decades. Many, many ...

Re: Is it that bad that Pixar is a boy´s club?

PATF has 4 speaking females, with 9 males. Tangled only has 2 speaking females. And at least 10 male speakings roles, and 3 silent. Winnie The Pooh has 1 female in total. Frozen looks to have 2 speaking females to 4 speaking males, plus 1 silent. This is misogamy. If a females are at the forefront i...
