Re: What's New at DisneyLand?

^I forgot to say anything about that! It's really well done and enhances the ride. Everyone thought they were just fixing up the railings so it would be up to OSHA's standards, and it was such a nice surprise when it was a complete refurbishment. :) About Luigi's, it seems it will stay Luigi's for n...

Re: Dreamworks Animation in Trouble

I don't really understand why HTTTYD2 didn't make waves. When I saw it, I thought it had the potential to start a whole new type of movie: the animated epic. I thought it was fantastic, even with it's flaws. It saddens me to see DreamWorks struggling. I like a lot of their movies (HTTYD films, ROTG,...

Re: What's New at DisneyLand?

Woo that's exciting! I haven't heard anything about that. Okay, I guess it's my duty to help out in this thread, since it is a sad affair. I have no official sources, but here's a dump of rumours going around DLR lately. They may or may not be true. I don't know myself. Trying to be sufficiently vag...

Re: Will Tomorrowland (DL) be renamed Star Wars Land?

Plus, I fully agree with your point on the MiceChatters hating Toontown and that they're only making things up because they hate it. They've expressed similar hatred for other attractions as well, like Muppet-Vision 3D, the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Autopia, etc. to the point where they made u...

Re: Big Hero 6

I haven't seen Death Note yet, but isn't L half Japanese, half American too? I agree with Sotiris about the odd mashup. I think San Fransokyo definitely has potential to be very cool (I actually do think San Fransisco has distinctive elements other than the Golden Gate Bridge), but I don't really un...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World

I believe the Columbia is wheelchair accessible. Disneyland's site says it is. The info seems a little contradictory, though, so I'm not sure about it. "Wheelchair Access: Proceed to the access gate to the right of the turnstile or through the attraction exit. Guests must navigate a steep serie...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World

^You've got a point about the Castles, Nala . I was just at Disneyland today and Saturday, and even though it's pretty, it looks sort of washed out and squat compared to Cinderella's Castle. I feel like such a traitor for saying that! I definitely pick Disneyland Resort. It's my home park, and I've ...

Re: Frozen Attraction?

^When I was working over there, there were rumours about Soarin' being turned into Soarin' Over the World or something like that. Either one would make so much more sense than Soarin' Over California. I was a little pissed off when I found out that DCA's signature (beautiful) ride was duplicated in ...

Re: Recipe Swapping

Hmm, I've never thought of chili as Mexican food. I think it's considered Tex-Mex, which isn't quite the same thing. Ooh, but speaking of chili, do you have any recipes you like? I'm so busy lately, if I could make chili in a crockpot overnight and have tons of leftovers, that would be the best!

Re: Personal Park Traditions

I have lots! One thing I always make sure I do is look at all the window displays in Main Street. At DCA, I always go through the bread tour to get my free sourdough bread! I used to go through the Mission tortilla tour for the corn tortillas, but now those are a relic of the past. :( Also, I always...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World

One thing I forgot. In DL, if it's too windy, the fireworks get cancelled. We were there for Christmas in 2008 and the fireworks had started and suddenly stopped because there was too much wind. It hasn't happened yet in WDW because the buildings aren't as close to WDW as they are in DL. Nothing ag...

Re: Missing a Slip Cover?

I have a confession: I love slipcovers. They're so shiny! But at the same time, I'm an environmentalist, so I feel kind of guilty about that. That's one reason I've never called up Disney to get a slipcover. (I'm also just lazy) Do you by chance have the Pocahontas 2 Movie collection blu slipcover? ...

Re: Your Disney Bucket List

That sounds so fun, Avaitor ! Come to think of it, I'd love to have a Disney themed party at some point, like with themed foods, and a movie, and karaoke, and maybe costumes! What can I say, I'll always be a kid at heart. :P I just remembered that I posted this. I love this thread. - Visit Walt Disn...

Re: Disney to build 'Avatar' Attraction in Theme Parks

^Excactly. Harry Potter has a fanatical following (and I mean that in the best way). For a lot of fans, HP is their childhood, part of their life. Avatar doesn't have that kind of loyalty. Star Wars, Marvel, or Lord of the Rings would be possible rivals, I'd think. I already posted this in the WDW t...

Re: Once Upon A Time (ABC TV Series)

I know. But it is still an allegory. If anything, I'd say some fairy tales are much more explicitly Christian than The Chronicles of Narnia , referencing God specifically, particularly Hans Christian Anderson tales. I completely agree that The Chronicles of Narnia are allegories, but I don't recall...

Re: Disneyland Resort vs. Walt Disney World

WOW! I didn't expect so many people to choose Disneyland. I thought I'd be fighting my corner alone. I definitely pick Disneyland Resort. It's my home park, and I've grown up with it, and I'm probably incredibly biased, but I tried to be objective. :P Disneyland Resort Better design More charming Mo...

no Tarzan soundtrack? are the post rennaissance, non princess films going to be ignored again? :| My thoughts too. I'd love to have more of the soundtrack. Three tracks is not enough. Also, no Snow White? I guess if these are going with anniversaries, the next one would be 2017? I would love love l...
