Re: Frozen: Part V

I have to admit, I always did have sympathy for Hades. Not that I think he's any less bad than he is, just that his behavior doesn't seem any more selfish than any of the other gods who mostly don't give a crap about humanity's problems. Plus, it doesn't help that Zeus is a huge douche (both in thi...

Re: The Tinker Bell Film Series

Thats so funny. I love these films, and Secret of the Wings is my favorite fairy film by far. Its probably because i love films involving sisters, and I also happen to love winter and snow environments. So i'll admit those two things were enough for me, and everything else was extra. Just watched Th...

Re: Frozen: Part V

All I was saying about Frozen being successful is that Disney often bases decisions off of financial success. Maybe WDAS will make a change to their long-standing "tradition" of choosing all male directors for their animated features. Yeah, I agree with Victurtle. I don't know how you can ...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Very glad she feels that way about it. Whether she's female or not doesn't make a difference. She's a filmmaker. That's all that should matter, and thankfully that's all she cares about. I could think of another female director who was the opposite - had a very big sense of *pride* in the fact that...

Re: Frozen: Part V

A really nice fan-made animation of a DYWBAS Reprise. Really nice lyrics too- I love "the storm inside me won". We see a much clearer distinction of Elsa's growth with that line. I like this much better than the scene we ended u...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I know that climax scene has a lot of issues. But i still think the blinding snow wasn't one of those issues, and it was actually a big plus for me. It didn't drown out emotion, because the snow is the emotion. Or at least its Elsa's emotion, which is once again drowning out Anna and her emotions ju...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I agree taei. I liked tangled, but didn't love it. Now with Frozen in existence i don't like tangled much at all because i can't help but compare the two, and i think Frozen is superior in almost every way. And i'm sure once i get it on Blu I will almost always choose Frozen over Tangled. Tangled ha...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I was mainly referring to Brave and PatF. I don't mind either of them, but my main concern is that it's going to become the norm and be pushed the extreme. The public seems so dead set on pushing the whole "I dont need love at all" agenda that it's almost ridiculous. I almost feel that if...

Re: Frozen: Part V

I'm also getting really tired of this whole "romance is bad" idea. A girl can be independent and still want to fall in love. A guy can too. Why can't we strike a balance? Because I really miss those big epic romances. What disney fairy tales have a "romance is bad" idea? I think...

Re: Frozen: Part V

So Lisa is responsible for the gorgeous art nouveau look of Enchanted 2d scenes! She needs to release an artbook! Actually, she and 5 other Disney women are releasing LOVELY next summer, I believe. They had a kickstarter where you could get a copy signed by all 6 women for $25, and I was really hap...

Re: Twisted: the Untold Story of a Royal Vizier

I finally got around to watching the end of this. Wow. I really love how they wrapped it up. From the rest of the show, i expected some kind of silly ending, but it was actually pretty touching and surprising. This is a good one. Very original.

Since we're talking about favorite shots: http://lovely-renders.tumblr.com/post/69315379352/we-only-have-each-other That is mine. Not my blog. My second favorite shot, is of the parents ship on the stormy sea. the way it disapears under the waves so quickly, peacefully, and quietly with that almost ...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Elsa's power's origin was explained (if thats what you mean by her origin). She was just born with them. Thats it. The king says it, and as someone on this thread pointed out, the ice harvesters said it: "Born of cold and winter air and mountain rain combining" . I think they didn't just l...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Someone on youtube mentioned that DYWTBAS sounds like Not While I'm Around from Sweeny Todd. Wow I wish i didn't read that because I'm going to hear that when I see the sequence now. Actually, Not While I'm Around is a good song for Elsa to sing to Anna as a response to DYWTBAS and later, about Hans...

Re: The Disney Movie Rewards Discussion & Info Thread Vol. 4

I'm just hoping for a Frozen movie poster at some point. It'd be cool if they did a signed one like they did with PATF, but i'd be just as happy with the normal movie theater poster with the character's heads poking out of the snow. Right now they have the Donald "Happy Camper" WDCC on sal...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Also, yesterday I saw frozen for the third time and was looking for Hans during the ice castle scene. I've read that some people think he glanced up towards the chandelier and some think he didn't. Well he definitely does. There would be no other reason for him to glance up at the chandelier, and aw...

Re: Frozen: Part V

^Yes, yes, yes. I'm the younger, more optimistic and energetic sister who was always jumping on my sister's bed and forcing her into things. I still do that actually. And no one can stop me until she moves out. My sister's the more mature and withdrawn one. Yesss i still do that to my sister too. W...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Most of all I'm amazed that Disney put a sister relationship as the focus of their movie. What's more, they nailed it. That is a true achievement for any movie, really. I could see my older sister and myself in Elsa and Anna. It makes me so happy and proud of Disney. I actually shed a tear of pride...

Re: Frozen: Part V

Meeting Anna seemed pretty coincidental and he immediately bowed when he saw her - there was no look. Even after he fell in the water there was no ill intent in his gaze towards Anna who had already run off. Whether that implies a genuine emotion or is simply meant to trick the audience? No idea. I...

Re: Frozen: Part V

His backstory makes absolutely no difference even if true. I believe they were trying to deliver a point that the familial bond between the sisters saves them whereas Hans lack of support from his family leads him down a dark path. Doesn't excuse his actions, obviously. Wow. That is a really good o...
