That's just life, Im sure there were fans of silly symphonies back in the 40s that got upset when Walt stopped production but he had to. 2D animation has pretty much maxed out its potential, I don't think there will ever be a 2d film in theaters ever again.

i saw a commercial on tv for this movie and im afraid we got another lack luster marketing campaign. the movie is being advertised as a comedy, i got a shrek vibe from it. I think its going to hurt disney in the long run because good word of mouth didn't save princess and the frog and this one looks...

Hand Inked vs CAPS

Anybody else thinks the CAPS digital paint doesn't look anywhere as good as good ol' hand inked characters? I was looking at screen captures of disney films and the one with hand inked looked better

yawn... the visuals looks nice i will admit that but like i said, we've seen this all before. All that talent and they could only come up with a cliche romantic boat ride to knock another cliche around the room: "don't judge a book by it's cover" You see a picture, but you know nothing ab...

Many of these scenes could work in 3D animation, I think. Pride Rock, Some of what was made during Walt's lifetime, etc, would possibly work. I think the topic was created to single-out the scenes that downright wouldn't work in any other medium. Bingo :D "A girl worth fighting for" does ...

I liked the scene in bambi when hes twitterpatted and prancing thru the clouds with Faline and then fights Ronno, the silhouttes of the deer duking it out along with the music made the scene stand out a lot and captured the intesnisty of fighting

2D animation at its best

Here we can discuss scenes that sort of seem out of place but work incredibly well for the movie because it will never look believable and good in 3D animation. Im talking about scenes like pink elephants that show all the things that make 2D one of a kind, it was also done well in "friend like...

this movie looks like its taking the right approach as far as the teaser goes, keep the audience guessing, hopefully they learned from the mistakes in the PAF. What worries me is if this movie is a huge sucess then 2ds future looks bleak

You'd think disney would hire a cover artist that could actually DRAW the characters on model and not look like some cheap FHE cartoon movie to keep the kids busy, but its whatever considering this was one of my favorites growing up and I'm most certainly picking it up.

am I the only one that doesnt want this to be made? The main reason i think maleficent is such an interesting villian is because shes so mysterious and we have to use our imagination to figure out her backstory. Why does everything nowadays have to have a backstory and be so in depth? Whatever happe...

Actually you're wrong, nobody expected him to make animated films anymore and when he brought up the idea of still doing them people were asking him why? " why worry about animated features, you got your themeparks and live action now" But walt still wanted to make 2D films. But the cost ...

[/quote] From what I've read about Walt Disney, he was already losing interest in hand drawn animation in the late 1950's. He wanted to do live action instead, and develop more theme parks. But he had to continue doing animation, because that's what the audience expected from him. Sometimes, it read...
