Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion

Belle's yellow dress looks plain and boring, not at all what I would have imagined. Like a prom dress really. Hope they'll fix it by adding something extra. And she needs gloves. Her hair is also a bit to plain/modern when she wears the yellow dress. (I can see the wish - allthough not the need - fo...

Re: Disney's Live Action "The Lion King"

I welcome this news as I see it as one step closer (on a long road) to getting live action remakes of the movies I would really like to see: Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Hercules. I only hope the fairytale/remake trend will last long enough for Disney to come to Pocahontas, Hunchback ...

Re: Ranking the Disney Princes

I think Hercules, Quasimodo/Phoebus should have been included in this ranking (but I guess you would not have enough options to include everyone in a poll after all). And Hans as well, he is a real prince after all;) For me the word "prince" in a Disney setting equals hero or leading male ...

Re: Who gets to decide what characters make it into merchand

I continue to be amazed by how Disney themselves are neglecting many of their classic movies by not trying to keep them in the public eye and in people's minds. The "Disney Princess" franchise is a horrible, horrible franchise I wish never had been invented, since it makes it so easy for D...

Re: Hercules bluray just arrived!

Really interessting to see that art! I love Hercules (the character, the movie and it's soundtrack) but have long wondered about what could have been if Disney had taken the movie in a different direction. I also share the view that Hercules would have been received better had it been more epic and ...

Re: James and the Giant Peach Live-Action Remake

Don't care either way about this new adaption since I have never seen the 1996 movie either. Something about it's style that I really dislike. But, I have to wonder: Do Disney really think that this will be a huge box office sucess? Don't recall that the 1996 film did huge numbers at the box office....

Re: The Little Mermaid (Disney) Live-Action Film

If Miranda write lyrics for a few new songs (or if he and Menken work together on both lyrics/music for a few new songs) and/or acts as a producer or story guy on this movie I am okay with that. But if he is meant to be co-composing the movie score for this movie, then that's a new low for Disney's ...

Re: "Robin Hood" (1973) soundtrack?

Robin Hood is among the many soundtracks that should have be added to the Walt Disney Legacy soundtracks collection. I wish Disney Music Emporium will expand upon that line at some point and add the likes of Robin Hood, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback, Hercules, Mulan, Alice, Peter Pan and ...

Re: The Hunchback of Notre Dame on Broadway

Bought the soundtrack on iTunes (and I plan to get it on CD), and I think it's really, really great! I hope the stage version will get a proper Broadway treatment at some point. A live action musical movie would also have been cool.

Re: Steven Spielberg's The BFG (2016)

Now that The BFG have bombed it's safe to say this is another costly Disney failure at the box office. Disney sure have greenligheted quite a few very expensive movies over the last years that have all flopped (G-Force, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Prince of Persia, Mars Needs Moms, John Carter, The L...

Where is the story books about Hercules and Quasimodo? So annoying to witness how Disney chose to continue to neglect these two classic movies.

Re: Beauty and the Beast Live-Action Discussion

Great teaser trailer! I have high hopes this will be as good as live action Cinderella, perhaps even better. But to me Emma Watson is really bad casting for this role. She basicly got it because she is famous from Harry Potter and have dark hair. She is not a great actress in my opinion and most imp...

Re: The Little Mermaid (Disney) Live-Action Film

Alan Menken should write a few new songs for this, like he did for Beauty and the Beast. Would love it if they were to include Beyond My Wildest Dreams and If Only from the Broadway musical as well. They have to make this a musical and make a live action remake of the animated classic. Other studios...

Re: Alice in Wonderland sequel

I thought it was better than the original. It will not go down in history as a classic movie, but it was great fun and really entertaining. Beautiful to look at, great visuals and costumes, I liked the music. The story was more entertaining than the first movie in my opinion. Will watch it in theate...

Disney Store have already released classic movie collection dolls for Alice, Red and White Queens, Mad...

Re: Alan Menken News & Discussion

But yeah, I would love to see Hercules and Enchanted on Broadway! Especially Hercules. I think it could be a really fun production with many new comic songs. But the movie/story also have a lot of heart and sincerity, it's not just only jokes. Hercules is such a sweet and kind character.

Re: Alan Menken News & Discussion

If done right Pocahontas on Broadway would be epic and beautiful. A bit more serious, sophisticated and adult oriented compared to the rest of Disney's musicals, but I could see it work. The Hunchback of Notre Dame works as a stage adaption, and so would Pocahontas.

Such a great actor! He will be missed. I hope Disney makes a good choice when finding the actor that will replace Alan Young as the new Scrooge McDuck.

Re: Upcoming Live-Action Remakes/Reimaginings

TRON 3 would have been so much more awesome than many of the pointless remakes and sequels on this list. Are Aladdin still a go? Are Disney still planning to make that pointless prequel "Genies" before eventually making a proper "Aladdin" movie - that is if the Genie movie does n...
