I *SORT OF* see the point he was trying to make -- Monsters Inc. Finding Nemo etc all take place in an obviously different world. WALL-E is very much a "real world" film, in that it takes place here on Earth, real human characters are there, etc. It's OUR world. No talking animals, no sup...

I'm also still taking in Wall-E. It was definitely thought-provoking and layered in a way I haven't experienced in a movie for a while. I'd also need to revisit some of the older Pixars, as I believe the last time I saw Monsters was when it came out! But, here's my list off the top of my memory: 1. ...

I JUST noticed two other things: 1.The charlie brown box set is in the wrong order of holidays (Great Pumpkin should be first, followed by Thanksgiving, then Christmas) 2.The Muppet Movie should be with the Disney DVDs. Wow, haha, you even fixed my Non-Disney catalogue! Thanks :D Maybe I should pos...

Haha, the power of crowdsourcing! I only just realized when I was about to post the pictures that Pooh went before Robin Hood. But wow, I don't know how so many of my movies went out of order! Especially TLK and Aladdin! But, yes, everyone's points are valid. I don't plan on getting the Treasures th...

I can't believe it's been a year and a half since I last posted my collection pics. It's certainly grown since then. Apparently, I have 21 of the Animated Classics! Can anybody spot what's wrong about my collection? http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1287/616509322_3ecd2c68ca_b.jpg http://farm2.static.f...

Yay for Luke and his review! I am glad somebody agrees that there are some real shortfalls to this movie, especially it being from Pixar :) I've also been thinking that there wasn't very much Brad Bird in this movie, and if that is in fact the case, a lot of the deficiencies with the movie stem from...

I just wanted to share this review by Michael Barrier with everyone. He outlines my thoughts on the film's shortcomings with pure "reviewers" elegance. I hope that people read this and maybe will understand where I'm coming from when I think the movie isn't *all that and a bag of potato ch...

Re: Theatrical Review of Ratatouille (DVDTOWN.COM)

Theatrical Review By Jason P. Vargo I just wanted to do a quick rebuttal of this rather weak film review. Jason P. Vargo spends the whole time comparing the film to other movies, instead of comparing it to Pixar's standard. Let me disect this a bit. "Ratatouille," from the first moments o...

disneyboy. Could you embed that link into a word, then the page wouldn't stretch out so long. Thanks. I pirated the film a few days ago. It's Moore's least biased doc yet, and probably the one with the most soul. I loved his trip around the world, where he checks out the healthcare systems in Canada...

The science is in. I simply do not understand how anyone can disbelieve thousands of scientists. This is their job, to study the world, and you cannot simply choose to ignore their life's work just because you don't believe it will happen. People have been studying this since the late 60's and 70's...

I just came back from it- it was wonderful !!! Such a great movie! So cute, with a great message! I was disappointed in "Lifted", though. After more people have seen "Ratatouille", then I'll get into more of a discussion about all my thoughts, since I don't want to ruin anything...

I'm quite looking forward to this film on DVD. Considering it made less than even Chicken Little, it's not surprising the treatment it's receiving, although it is still disappointing. I hope the docu featurette is longer than 5 minutes and more than just a fluff piece. I predicted word of mouth woul...

Wow, that intro was quite inspiring. These guys are truly the modern "Nine Old Men". You could tell from the superb animation and unique camera shots that Pixar is saving up something really special for this one, especially if it's the last of the original story ideas from the 90's.

Absolutely terrific. The animation is just a whole new level! The shadows, and depth, and design... I <3 Pixar. It certainly has a different feel, even moreso than Cars, but I'm sure Brad Bird has pulled something great off. I wonder what the North American trailer will be like, as I doubt something...

I wonder what animation they are testing here... I don't really see anything revolutionary, in terms of hair or muscle structure or whatnot.

Character Ripoffs

I was just researching some stuff for Little Red Ridinghood (sp?), and obviously googled Hoodwinked. I looked at the poster with all the characters, and saw something strangely familiar about the frog: http://www.filmstew.com/Users/ReviewsViews/13144/hw_stiers.jpg But of course, it's the genetically...

New Meet The Robinsons Trailer

I must admit, this movie's beginning to look better and better. I really like the style of animation, and the jokes seem much less 'Dreamworks' than CL was. I especially enjoyed this little nugget: http://resizr.lord-lance.com/resized/531_QuickTime%20PlayerScreenSnapz001.jpg View the new Trailer here
