Re: Mary Poppins: 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray - Official Discus

I've heard rumors that there will be a limited re-release of Mary Poppins in theaters. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen. I did see it on the big screen a couple of times last year at special classic film events. It had been many years since I'd seen it in a theater as a child. For as m...

Yes, that's what I've been thinking as well. It will mostly like be metallic and iridescent like so many of the Disney slip covers are.

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s240/allfnow/cover1.jpg I like the cover as well. The single image of her flying is iconic. I love that they used the original marquee lights design for the logo that was used in the original ads and posters.. http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s240/allfnow/poster...

Re: Mary Poppins: 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray - Official Discus

The third to last and second last are out of order. It should be the 1997 (or so) version THEN Gold but I nitpick. -Skyler You are absolutely right. I noticed the same thing after I posted it. As for the blu-ray trailer, I compared the picture information with the DVD. There is more picture info on...

Re: Mary Poppins: 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray - Official Discus

I know it probably isn't the case, but feel like Mary Poppins is one of the most released and rereleased Classics ever ?! :? Feel like it's always bopping about store shelves in the UK. . . I think you are right. Mary Poppins has been released many times through the years. It's always been in print...

Thank you all for posting the comparison images. It really makes it obvious when seeing it all side by side. When I first watched the DVD of Cinderella years ago, I was disappointed to say the least. Without knowing what exactly had changed in terms of specific details, I knew it didn't look like th...

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with The Aristocats blu-ray. The picture is stunning. I'm appreciating this film like never before. Really gorgeous. The colors, the design, it's all shown off like never before... like a finely illustrated storybook come to life. The sound is wonderful as well....

He gave us so much. The soundtrack of our lives.
Listening to "The River Song" right now from "Tom Sawyer". Such a gorgeous and touching song. We'll always love and treasure your art, Mr. Sherman. :(

UmbrellaFish, thanks for your earlier post alerting us to Julie's appearance on Craig Ferguson tonight. Did you see it? It was excellent!! They are so good together. It's great to see her have so much fun. His wicked humor is so funny and she can always hold her own with him. It was great to hear th...

This is the part that I was worried about hearing:
"almost immediately, Marvel characters will pop up at Disney's theme parks."

I hope it doesn't mean that I will go to the Magic Kingdom and see Spider-man walking next to Alice and Winnie!

I don't like the updated cover art with the witch taking the center attention. Actually it's her claw-like hand taking center stage. I know why they are doing that. It's to pull in more of the horror / dark element / "male" crowd instead of making it look like a girly princess movie. Darn ...

I won't be purchasing the Zorro sets as I'm not a fan of the series, but I am happy for those that are. What I wish for is a Treasure set celebrating Walt Disney World. That would be wonderful. It could include the opening Gala special and so much more. I'm very happy that the Treasures line has con...

The new documentary on the Broadway show is very well produced, but I didn't feel that the filmed version of the show's "Step In Time" number came anywhere close to the excitement and spectacle of it when you see it live. The brand new menus for this 45th addition are awesome . So much bet...

At least the picture of Mary on the cover is much better than the mock-up cover that we saw before. The logo is much nicer as well.

I love it, dude!

Actually, before the election, the Half Price Books store was giving out free buttons. One of them was:

"POPPINS - 2008 - The winds of change."

:D

Mary Poppins would be democrat. :D

Their young ones are hungry
Their nests are so bare
All it takes is tuppence from you
Feed the birds, tuppence a bag
