I feel with castleinthesky that this was the best film of the year and deserves every award it can earn. Scorsese has to get one this time. I will be royally pissed if they snub him again. He also deserves a Lifetime Achievement Oscar, but that's getting off topic. The Departed is one of my favorite...

THE DEPARTED is a must for anyone who likes movies, i.e. you

:o I highly recommend the brilliant Martin Scorsese's new film to anyone who believes in a comeback for really, really, really good movies.

I think the writers know where they're going, they just don't know how they're going to get there. The producers say they would ideally like to complete it in four seasons, five at the most, with talks of a possible movie. In case you're wondering where I pulled any of my assumptions and/or info, I ...

Am I the only one here who likes the art? I agree with perhaps some proportional adjustments, but the CGI look really works for the covers in my opinion. I hate most CGI effects and substitution, but for recent Disney DVD covers, I think it works well. Of course it would be cool to work in some more...

On Saturday I finished Season 2 of LOST [the second time for me, since I watched it on ABC but my friend had only seen Season 1, which I had let him borrow the week before]. The most consecutive time I've ever devoted to a TV set, but it's just so good. Can't wait until Season 3 on Oct. 4!!!

I LOVE House, and of course picked up S2 yesterday as well. I have seen it and since I've got a lot of other DVD TV to catch up on [Dreading/Relishing the mere one week between Nip/Tuck S3's DVD and the S4 premiere since I've only seen the first two], I might watch a few of my faves for now and rewa...

I agree. It will be awesomely bad! If you know how to watch it, you'll hopefully enjoy it, the way I LOVED seeing House of Wax in the theater. If you're expecting Pulp Fiction + Snakes + A Plane, you're probably setting yourself up for a horrible night at the movies, and nobody likes that.

ALIAS Season 5 + Complete Series Rambaldi Collector's Set

Amazon has the fifth and final season of ALIAS up for pre-order with a street date of November 21. The shorter season (17 rather than the usual 22 episodes) apparantly makes for a 4-Disc set rather than a 6-Disc set, reducing the list price to $39.99. I'm also hoping for better features, but of course with the artwork that seems to be pleasing everybody for the most part must come nitpicks that only the obsessive fans of UD can point out. I love the art as well and also thinks Tod looks a little different (not new with Disney DVD art. Sleeping Be...

Wow! Incredibly interesting. I'm a huge Abrams fan [Alias=favorite show ever]. This is huge. It's going to be harder to keep track of him now, what with Brian, Degrees, and whatever he's planning at WB. Also keeping a keen eye on his film credits with Paramount.

Disney-brand only? What does that mean for the more adult films from Miramax, Touchstone, etc.? Will those films just have to go to a different studio? Surely Disney won't distribute films inappropriate for younger crowds under the Disney banner.
