Re: George of the Jungle 2
Interesting. I remember reading a while ago that Brendan Fraser wasn't going to play George in the sequel anyway. If I recall correctly he had been miserable doing all the dieting and exercising for the first movie and didn't want to do all of that again. So George was always gonna be recast. Fraser...

Re: Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella (TV Series)
Why does this need to be a TV show though? Just make it a TV special, like the previous versions of R&H's Cinderella. I also wonder who they'll cast as Cinderella. Most people nowadays associate R&H's Cinderella with the version from the 90s, so I definitely think this is also gonna be a ver...

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
Well, it's coming to Broadway next year! And with a new title, the show is now called Bad Cinderella . Linedy Genao is set to star as Cinderella. She said on Instagram she knew she was gonna be the lead since Febuary 2022, long before the UK production was even announced to close. Lloyd Webber’s ‘Ba...

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
The only things worth this existing for now are Gal Gadot and the music. And, who knows, maybe that'll be enough to make it worth seeing. Snow White and the Huntsman is awful outside of Charlize Theron and Hemsworth, after all. Hahaha definitely agree with that. Snow White and the Huntsman and its ...

Oh, wow I totally forgot about that project. Disney was working on it for a really long time but then cancelled it when Snow White and the Hunstman and Mirror, Mirror were announced. I believe Saoirse Ronan was already attached to play Snow White.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
The thing that bugs me a bit about that interview is that he seems to equate 'little people' to 'dwarves'. I mean, I know little people are often called that (the medical condition is even officially called dwarfism) and it must be a hurtful term to some, but technically dwarves (like the ones from ...

Just watched the movie yesterday on Disney+ and was blown away by how much I adored it (as well as the songs)! Kinda hoping the movie gets a sequel or Disney+ series eventually, because I'd love to see more from these characters!

I read the book a while ago and it was well written and quite interesting. It could work pretty well as a TV show.

Re: Wonka (2023)
Not gonna lie, he looks pretty good as a younger Willy Wonka. Still not sure why we need a Willy Wonka origin story though. Part of the appeal of a character like Willy Wonka is the mystery. Spelling out exactly who he is and where he's from ruins that. Also, the 2005 movie already gave him an origi...

Re: Meant to Be (Book Series)
By looking at the cover alone, it took me a sec to realize this was a BATB retelling haha. I like the diversity, both leads seem to be people of colour. I am a bit disappointed they're doing the very overdone fairy tales first though. There are loads of modern Cinderella and BATB retellings. I hope ...

Re: Dear Evan Hansen (2021)
Yikes. I also thought it looked okay, but I guess this might be one of those stage musicals that doesn't really work as well on screen. The review also mentioned that Platt looked too old, which is something I was very worried about. I know he got a lot of acclaim (and awards) for this role, and cou...

Re: The Lion King 2 (Live-Action)
Pierre — who recently teamed up with Jenkins on Amazon series The Underground Railroad — will play Mufasa while Harrison Jr. is playing Taka. Additional casting is in process with plenty of big names likely. Interesting that they're re-using the name Taka for Scar. That was also Scar's real name in...

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
The premiere was last week and the show has actually been getting a lot of positive reviews. So I guess it does work better when you actually see it. Some of the lyrics are cringey, and when Cinderella sang, "I want to be hot," I decided that I don't really need to hear the rest of it. Hah...

Oof, just found out this is the lowest rated Disney Channel Original Movie in history. I really hope they don't blame that on any of the actors in it, or the fact that it centers on Indian-Americans. It was a pretty fun movie and the lead did a good job imo. I love that there is more South Asian rep...

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
I completely understand why you didn't like it. Like I said before I'm also not a fan of this take on the fairytale. I really disagree with some of choices Emerald Fennell made and agree that this version of the story misses the entire original message of the original fairy tale. I really had to get...

Re: Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella
Well, the album was released last Friday and naturally I spent my Sunday evening listening to all of it. And overall I... kinda liked it. It's all very tongue in cheek. I definitely don't think it's one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's best works, but there are some songs I ended up liking. "Only You, ...

Well most musicals are just starting back up again, inlcuding some productions of Aladdin. Maybe they want to have those productions up and running before releasing a pro-shot.

Yeah it really does! Which is kinda weird because from what I remember people didn't really care for the Broadway show's sets and costumes, so it's weird that it seems like they took so much artistic inspiration from the show.Atlantica wrote:It sort of gives me vibes of the art direction of the Broadway show ?

R.I.P. Richard Donner
He's made some great movies. His Superman movie is definitely one of the most important and influential superhero movies of all time, whose influence can still be seen in a lot of other beloved films of the genre. Even the MCU owes a lot to that movie and it's legacy.
