I think it's a bad idea. Similar to the colorization of black and white movies, and updating movies with unnecessary CGI. But Disney has already proven that they don't really care about preserving their movies. Only updating them for newer audiences is important. That has always been the work method...

Why do they even bother with the DVD cases with the combos? They take up more room.
For people who don't yet own a lot of Blu-rays, and don't want the smaller cover to stand out compared to the DVD collection.

Steven Spielberg Says 'The Adventures Of Tintin' Is "85% Animation, 15% Live Action" http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/steven_spielberg_tintin_85_animation_15_live_action/ While there’s a live-action spirit to the film, the performance capture elements are a skeleton which t...

When did they ever say that? Could you provide us with a source? I think people are just assuming that. Watch some of the bonus features on either The Incredibles, or UP. It's definitely mentioned with both movies that they didn't go for realistic human beings on purpose. I don't recall anyone sayi...

I agree with you. That has always been an issue that has bothered me about Pixar. Why do they have to have cartoony-looking humans in every single movie? Why can't they try to make their humans more realistic-looking for once? They intentionally do that, so they can avoid the Uncanny Valley. Indeed...

I'm inclined to say no to all of the above, based on the lack of older television on Blu-ray. I'm not sure what the format would offer '90s shows shot on video aside from fewer discs. I think fewer discs is about it. Which might not be so bad. They could start to release more then one season or eve...

If any of you 'moaners and groaners' would listen to any interviews with George Lucas, before the Special Editions came out, or on the Bonus Discs of the Blu-ray set, you would know that the original releases of A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were way ahead of what was avail...

Shouldn't the topic starter start the discussion? :D But I'll tell my tale. As a kid, in the early nineties, a friend of mine still had a record player, and I was absolutely mesmerized when her mother took out this huge square cardboard thing, and took out this huge black disc out, where music would...

I didn't SAY that the newer versions are better, damn it!!! Get that through your thick skull!!!!!! :x Get it through yours that I didn't say you did, either. Maybe a teensy bit less caffeine next time? Relax a little. Okay, maybe I like the newer celebration music in the end of ROTJ better than I ...

That's not true at all. They (RTD and Ecclestone) decided from the beginning that Ecclestone would only do it one season. Not from the interviews I've read with him but perhaps it's a bit of both? -Skyler How can it be both already written in the contract and him wanting out later in the season? :D...

To add to the thread derailment  I saw a thread on another forum where the question was asked: Is it better to give constructive criticism, or just pump someone up by saying they are the best singer in the world? There is some girl on Youtube called Nichole337, who has posted a ton of videos w...

And neither is complaining that they're not on the Blu-ray, let alone the matter of the "Who shot first", Hayden Christensen being put in Return of the Jedi, Vader's big Noo in the same movie, etc. Like I said, I've seen the original versions, but you don't hear ME complaining that they'r...

I don't have time to scrub all 52 pages of this thread, but I can't be the only one who's miffed at the changed Disney logo/deleted Frank Wells dedication, can I? Is nothing sacred? You don't need a pretty or perfect voice to become a good singer. Even if you have an 'ugly' voice, you can become world-famous if you can use it to your best advantage. Just look at my sig for the living proof. ;) I think that's more to do with the songs he writes. If Bob Dylan wrote awful songs, ...

Eccleson's 9th Doctor (who should have had more than 1 season in my opinion). Lots of people thought that. It was he however who said "I'm not enjoying this. Write me out for when my contracts up". -Skyler That's not true at all. They (RTD and Ecclestone) decided from the beginning that E...

Is it right to disrespect someone for buying the complete saga on Blu-ray? Because, apparently, some jerk on YouTube told that to me and claimed that I got it because I preferred the "butchered" versions of the original trilogy to the pre-Special Edition ones. Okay, seriously, what kind o...

1. Unlimited money.
2. Being the best at everything, or if that's too vague, just the piano.
3. Being able to remove the big scar I have on my head (from ear to ear).

I find it a bit hard to believe that if the footage looked like it did at the top right photo that it would have gotten a 5/5 review. I actually have to doubt the accuracy of these colors as they are uploaded screen caps of an uploaded youtube video. We've also learned though past releases not to t...
